What is your favorite trait about yourself and why?

Patience of Job
Sorry, reminded me of this:

I’m not the smartest, but the smartest folks are often not that creative. I’m not the most creative, but the most creative folks often lack practical intelligence.

I think my best quality is being somewhat above average on both dimensions. Being well rounded in that way has helped me immensely in my business career…creative problem solving with an analytical bent is not that typical.

Excellent.

Creativity is important. Extremely important

My Fortitude.

I go when some badass dudes say they can't go any more. If you look at who I was as an athlete, student, employee, and parent* I am who I am because I approach life with a "I've got more in the tank" "put the weight on my shoulders" mindset. I make up for every deficiency with work rate.

Good thread Jelly, hope you had a Merry Christmas/ great Holiday season.

If you can say that, I doubt you’re awful at it.

Just envision yourself in the story that another person is telling you.
Yeah, I keep telling my self that all human suffering is really qualitatively the same - just the delta between our aspirations and our reality.

I think it's harder to talk about your good traits than your bad ones. I think I'm pretty good at problem solving and being adaptable. That kind of ties into one of my bad traits of always expecting something to go wrong. I worry about stuff that hasn't happened and probably won't happen. I get that from my mom.

If you really are a gardener, and a grower and understand the balance of the earth and the pollinators, that’s huge.
I do love to garden but my true passion is helping to restore as much of nature as possible. I’ve been slowly planting native plants and trees on our acreage and I help Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation collect seeds every year.

I’m also a bug nerd so I understand the balance of native plants and insects, especially pollinators. Which is why I’m not a fan of honey bees because they are not native and out compete native bees.
