I understand what you are saying, but Alabama's 3 losses weren't cause of the ooc. It was cause they blew it against a couple of shit teams. If you want to see great OOC games end, this is a good way.

I get it, but nobody is going to be taking risks when 3 losses is automatic elimination even if the teams ahead of you played inferior competition all year. Teams slip up against lesser teams every year, often more than once. As an Iowa fan, you should know this.I understand what you are saying, but Alabama's 3 losses weren't cause of the ooc. Then why did Alabama get in but not those other 3 loss teams? That’s silly. There are no hard lines for the final at large spot. Lot of 3 loss teams with far better resumes than many 1 & 2 loss teams.
So how do you put them behind Bama but in front of Ole Miss?Bama's resume with 3 losses is much more impressive than the canes. um has not beaten a ranked team all year and struggled against numerous mid-tier teams.
The main problem with that is that some teams hit their stride or get healthy late, so you gotta decide if you want the teams playing the best at that time in it. It's what makes March Madness so great. Hell, my team was just Region Runner ups, but we got healthy and made a run and won the state title.Only conference champions should get in. In a perfect world, we wouldn't have these stupid super conferences and would have 9-10 team conferences where everybody could play a round robin schedule and just conference champions could get in the playoffs.
Just let everybody in then. The main problem with that is that some teams hit their stride or get healthy late, so you gotta decide if you want the teams playing the best at that time in it. So, either "only conference champs" or "Let everyone in". Cool.Just let everybody in then.
Because of their name. Then why did Alabama get in but not those other 3 loss teams?
*ahem*I think after the conference champions the rest of the field should be determined based on computer rankings. Take the human emotions and bias out of the equation.
I honestly want 16. I don't like the byes at all. They should never have gone to 12. It's a joke. Should have been 6 at most. I hate this.
4 conferences with 4 champs and then 2 semis.Only conference champions should get in. In a perfect world, we wouldn't have these stupid super conferences and would have 9-10 team conferences where everybody could play a round robin schedule and just conference champions could get in the playoffs.
Exactly, just an expanded version. Actually, I may have enjoyed college football more when there were no championship games. When every bowl was special and an honor to be invited.*ahem*
BRING BACK THE BCS!
It’s also interesting to see how hard the ACC is lobbying this time around when they didn’t do a damn thing last year.I am taking delight at the Canes fans melting down about a 3 loss Bama being ranked higher than them and the fact they are going to miss a spot in playoff due to it. The same cane fans who loved last years debacle and who also mocked us for trying to leave ACC and same school who has decided to stick it out in ACC?
Who could have predicted that 8 BIG / SEC teams would be in the playoffs?!? Including a 3 loss Alabama. Nobody saw this coming!! If only something happened a year ago that could have warned us all🤔
Sidebar-I also love how Notre Dame has emerged just fine in all this. In addition to the whole horrible TV deal with ESPN and Raycom, the whole Notre Dame / ACC partnership thing was a complete fiasco too that got ACC zip in the end. Notre Dame will always get the ACC’s second spot with no need to play in the championship game and no need to share TV and playoff revenue.
What a bunch of idiots Swofford and company were. The most incredible part is the ACC is now a garbage basketball conference too so that all went to heck too.
I enjoyed it when you had to have better than .500 season to go to a bowl. And while saying this, the first bowl I attended in person, Iowa State went with a 5-5-1 record.Exactly, just an expanded version. Actually, I may have enjoyed college football more when there were no championship games. When every bowl was special and an honor to be invited.

Well, we all know what was driving that, now don't we?It’s also interesting to see how hard the ACC is lobbying this time around when they didn’t do a damn thing last year.
