What was different yesterday?

1. The O Line had their best game of the year by far, great mix of run and pass blocking. OSU had to respect the run.
2. Play calling was crisp, assertive and one of the better called games I can recall as an Iowa fan (I am 49 btw). Far less predictable than usual. Congrats to BF.
3. Receivers made all the catches, especially the TE's. Especially in the red zone. Makes a huge difference obviously. Also prevents INT's (eg. bouncing off helmets, etc.).
4. The INT's by Jackson and Hooker - what can you say, just huge. I feel like our DB play has been solid all year but we have not seen this type of activity or even close to this stage.
5. Longer passes down the seam (TJH had at least two long ones IIRC) really opened things up
6. Best promo UNI's we have introduced by far. I am a huge fan of these, and we seemed to play with a bit more of a swagger.

And the three areas that have really been solid all year and was critical to outsomce so cannot really register as different:
1. Overall Defense
2. Stanley
3. Wadley

anytime you can get Wadley into a 1 on 1 situation in open field, that is a good thing--and BF/Stanley were able to do that. Kudos.
