If he truly can't practice, he needs to shut it down. Get himself healthy and come back 100% .

My first post, but just wanna say I admire this kid about as much or more than any Hawk I've followed for 50 years.
He's an "assassin" on the floor, utterly fearless, and those game-winning shots last year were...well, we all know.
I hope he comes back next year.
Wait a minute. I thought Little Bill Dagget hated assassins? Be careful, you may be "Unforgiven", after just your first post!

Interested in the 1 vote for "other." Redshirt, but then retire? Switch to football? Shut it down to redshirt, but pull a Willis Reed when we make it to the Elite 8 and sacrifice his Senior year?
Well the scuttlebutt is that he needs to have an operation on the other hip. If that doesn't heal up properly or quickly enough he couldn't play. That is another possibility.

After listening to JBo's interview after the beat-down in Ames, I sure got the feeling he's looking for any reason he can find to keep going this season, which surprised me a little. From the beginning he, and Fran, have said he wants to be 100 percent for his senior season, which makes sense. But in the interview JBo clearly implied that he might continue this season "if I think I can get to 100 percent by the end of the year."

That sounds quite a bit different than anything I've heard or read before that. With all his brothers, his dad, and Fran highly qualified to offer advice, Jordan should have all the information he needs. But this may be one of those emotional decisions that defies the facts.

Obviously, whatever way he goes, we hope it works out great for him and the Hawkeyes.

I voted that he finish the year, because that would be best for the team and probably also for JBo IF he can do it without risk to further injury or serious pain, and play at a pretty high level. Obviously, my selfish wishes don't matter. It is totally up to JBo, and I don't know what he is thinking.

By next year, I am hoping JoeT is ready to be one of the better PG's in the B1G. I want CJ and JoeW on the floor most of the game at 2 and 3. I also want Connor getting significant minutes anywhere but the 5, and preferably at the 3 or 4. Luka gets the bulk of the minutes at 5. Add Patrick to the mix at 3/4 and Nunge at 4/5, and we already have 7 in the rotation without the five new guys, two at guard. That is a lot of scholarship guys who could play next year. This year we are down to 7 without JBo, and then it is walk ons.

What a tough call, but I'd sure love to be selfish and just get to watch him play another full season. I think he'd prefer to go on this season with Garza, no sure thing he's back next year. Pretty sure Joe will be back. But I think it's still a case of he's not himself and he's just not feeling well enough to leave it all out there every night.

I predict he doesn’t announce a decision (even if he knows) and dresses for at least the next 4 games, thus forcing Cinn & a couple B1G teams to have to prepare for him.

Well I certainly expect them to do that for sure but ultimately I think he won't be able to go the way he'd like to and he decides to shut it down.

I may have missed the discussion, but didn’t he leave his shoes on the court. Isn’t that what a wrestler does when they hang it up?

I think he plays and finishes his Iowa career with Kriener. Maybe he will never be 100% during the rest of his time at Iowa and says screw it I'm pushing through.

I think that was just his one finger salute to the troglodyte denizens of Hilton
This. I'm sure he has lots of shoes. He did that in response to something I think Morris said last year, that if they won at Carver he was going to leave his shoes on the floor. This was just JBO's way of one upping him and throwing another dig at Niang as well...

This. He's made reference of he and Kreiner being close, and I'd bet he won't be 100% next year either. A person that young having those issues will probably never be pain free under that kind of physical stress.

I think you may be right. I never really thought about the fact if he does stop and have surgery maybe it doesn't go well enough for him to play next year.

Don’t we have 8? Joe T, Bakari, Ryan and Pemsl plus the 4 other starters.

This, plus Till is on scholarship, too, so technically 9 players. Till can give some minutes at the 3 and possibly the 4 depending on matchups. He is a defensive spark.
