How does the secondary look? (Here's looking at you #13)

Does the dline get a decent pass rush?

Consistency in special teams. (It's early and if this team is going to do something special the special teams need to be rock solid imo)

Welp that is my list of areas I'll really focus on. I think our guys win comfortable. I would focus on the pass pro but I think it will be good enough and I'll watch more of it next week. What do you guys think?

I agree 100% qc but I think we win even if we play like poop. I'm wanting to watch these things as hopefull building blocks for the rest of the season. Think of it like watching the footwork on a fighter while he kicks the snot of of his little brother. He's gonna kick his butt no matter what but are we making progress for thr next "fight"

If we get out of our base defense and actually try to switch things up with ISU the way we would with a Big Ten team, we'll be okay. If we play vanilla on vanilla the whole game, we will struggle.

i think ISU will load the box to stop the running game...using TE more this game and swing pass to RB's would help. On defense nothing over the top and with their o-line being young and inexperienced bring the house on 1st or 2nd down to put them 3rd and long

1), While I believe we will be able to run the ball, effectively, on Offense, My key will be to see if Keegan Render is in the game for J Daniels, how he performs. We should wear their DLine down as the game progresses.

2) Can we stop the run game? Not so much last week. Have we improved, there?

3) If Lanning is under pressure, he makes mistakes. Big mistakes. Can we get pressure on Lanning?

4) Special Teams (every game)

5) Turnover battle (every game)

Iowa run offense, Iowa run defense. Control both of those, Iowa cruises.

Ideally, CJ only needing to throw the ball roughly 15 times bodes very well for Iowa. And if ISU can't run the ball, Lazard can be controlled cause their QB will most likely be running for his life on every dropback.

Iowa State game always seems to come down to turnovers. I just want to see Iowa being a bunch of bullies and dominating the game up front. I want to see Iowa State give up by the middle of the 3rd Quarter.

They will have Lazard in motion all game long running him with short and deep crossing routes. Which will cause King to get tangled up with the safeties. Watch.
