"I am sorry I never taught defense & rebounding to my teams.
I am sorry for my nepotism in playing my sons instead of the future NBA talent.
I am sorry I scheduled too many cupcake teams in our non-conference games.
I am sorry that the Hawkeyes never got to the Sweet !6 in the NCAA Tournament."

Good question…

Fans - I had 7 seasons with Top 20 national attendance. They were supportive when I was winning. I lost them with 2 straight early exits from the tourney.

Facilities - Not good initially, but I was able to convince Gary to get us a basketball only practice facility, so that was nice. Carver needs flattened and rebuilt.

Financial Support - Given the fact we’re a Top 15 revenue program nationally, I think more financial support would have been beneficial.

Recruiting Area - I should have been better in Chicago, Minneapolis, and STL. Lost opportunity by me for sure. Impossible to build a B1G competitive team with only Iowa guys.

Admin - The basketball marketing & communications dept is terrible and a waste of money. Gary was great…did whatever I said. Beth, not so much.

B1G - Terrible basketball conference. Coaches teach their guys to mug, grab, etc. It’s football on a hard court. Totally ruining the game.

Officiating - Don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. Play favorites and don’t try to hide it.

Iowa City - Great place to raise a family. Knowledgeable fans.

Iowa - Bunch of rubes. 😃

News Media - Pushovers compared to East Coast reporters.

One of the toughest conferences in the country. Competing here every night is an honor and a challenge I embraced.

“Can we go over the routing and account numbers one more time just to be sure?”

Nah, that would just be another function she showed up at that she had no business being at......
Do you think Beth has ever had dinner at the McCaffery home? Does Marge know where Beth lives? what car she drives (Subaru)? hmmmmm.... Beth should have a restraining order ready to be signed, just in case...
