What's the dirtiest hit you can remember on an Iowa player? Was the hit on Aaron Rodgers dirty?

2010 O$U defender decleated Adam Robinson with a cheap shot targeting his head on a screen at the end of the game.

defender should have been banned from the rest of the season for that play.

I remember this and was at the game. I also remember no penalty being called. Does someone remember a reason as to why a penalty was never called? Was is because Robinson was behind the line of scrimmage?

Any answer that doesn't include "Kyle Turley ripping Damian Robinson's helmet off" is wrong!

Recently? Probably this one.

I never liked the kid but I don't think on that one he was trying to hurt him. It was an awkward effort by Smith reaching for the ball and if you watch the slowed down clip he turned his head. It was absolutely the correct call on targeting but I don't think it was that "dirty" of a hit.

btw I hate that you get tossed for targeting in college football. Maybe if you have 2 of them in a game, but one is dumb. I think of Josey I think it was last year early in the year it was like the first punt of the game and he got tossed. It wasn't a dirty play but by letter of the targeting law he got tossed.

In game speed, the hit on Rodgers looked fine. Barr tackled him and was on top but it is far from some of the hits you see where the player is really driven into the ground. This is a big deal because Rodgers got mad and showing it on slow motion makes it look worse than it was. Now the highlight of the Steeler player going down low on Alex Smith is an example of a dirty shot.
Rodgers hit was fine and I am a packer fan. Worse play from Barr was several plays later when he intentionally head butted Adams at end of play along sideline. This makes the hits look questionable since he was involved with too such plays on leading players from other team. Again, Rodgers play was fine even though the way QB are protected in NFL I was surprised with no flag

The hit on Rodgers was dirty. Not in the sense that it was illegal, but it was 100% unnecessary and it was done to inflict as much damage as possible. It's one thing to put a hit on a guy because you can. It's another to drive all the way through him at full speed with the intent that his shoulders will be perpendicular to the ground and your full weight will land on top of him. I don't care if it's legal. If you mean to injure someone, it's dirty.

This is nonsense. It was a legal hit that wasn't dirty at all. Have heard several former football players over the past few days break the play down and none of them have said it was a dirty hit. In fact, was listening to Ray Lewis break it down on FS1 last night and he said Barr did everything he could to not hurt Rodgers. Barr didn't grab his arm/hand which leads to no bracing the fall and he also rolled off the top of him instead of putting his entire body weight into Rodgers. You can understand why Barr had to hit him, since Rodgers has repeatedly terrorized the Vikings by pump faking and tucking and running or just buying more time. That was a good, clean hit by Barr that just had some greater implications through no fault of his own.

I'll never forget this one. Watched it live and thought Bradshaw's neck was broken.

I’d be very surprised if you’re not a Packers fan since you’re the only people I’ve seen whining about the hit so far.

Everyone likes to be the tough guy who complains about how "soft" the game has gotten. I "whine" because this involves people's health and livelihood. Avoidable injuries should be avoided. Only a meathead would disagree with that. I hate this hit, just like I hate when defenders do that alligator death roll tackle on a ball-carrier's leg in an attempt to twist a knee or ankle.

The point that everyone ITT is making, and basically everyone else in sports and media for that matter, is that the hit was 100% legal and certainly not dirty. It's unfortunate that Rodgers got hurt, but as Kirk would say "that's football."

That was called in the game. But I think they called it unnecessary contact to the head or something. It wasn't targeting back then. I just remember him laying there stiff as a board and not moving.

My brother was in Spartan Stadium that night and all the fans around him were claiming Sandeman was faking it and that it wasn't a penalty. Looked pretty obvious on TV he was out.
I was there. I thought I had seen someone die. It was the dirtiest hit I can remember on an Iowa player.

Not a fan of either team or the NFL in general.

The tackle on Rodgers was a clean hit. End of story. If Rodgers didn’t have such brittle bones, he would be just fine.

Maybe the Packers should focus on getting ready to play without Rodgers, instead of crying about a big nothing burger.

With all the crying they are doing the NFL will be even more soft. No breathing hard near the QB, lol.

Northwestern's KO of Shonn Greene should've appeared much earlier in this thread than it did.
The coaches better have IvoTor and Wigs ready to go tomorrow 'coz Fitz.

They said he was faking it because they've seen their own players faking injuries since...well, probably since they started going to games at MSU.
