Not when they think what the margin could've been if there was a Sweet 16 rematch. They may have down themselves a favor by getting knocked out Thursday.
What is funny is they would have absolutely flooded this board should we have lost.

Clown fans loved touting the Directors Cup. They will lose their mind when the Directors Cup shows we had a better team this year.

Sorry, a little off topic. Rocky Mountain Hawk if you live in Denver do you see as many Hawkeye flags, banners, bumper sticker and shirts as I do.
The op shows very little class by even starting this thread which is little more than a taunt at ISU fans. The ISU fans who have responded with congrats have shown the class after an Iowa win that many Iowa fans lacked after a very disappointing loss for ISU and their supporters. It's a sad comment on the 'eight year old mentality' that is often prevalent on this board.

I can't say I even thought about ISU or its fans after the game. You guys are obsessed with ISU.

I already did, but if you need my approval again, here it is.
That was an extremely impressive performance by the Hawks. By far the best I've seen them play all season. If they can repeat that, they're going to go a long way in the tournament.

I don't seem to recall many ISU fans coming on this board to gloat after Iowa lost to PSU in the Big Ten Tourney. (They may well have done so on their own board.) I do know that there were several threads started on this board that went beyond being in the spirit of a 'good natured rivalry.' after ISU lost to UAB. There were a lot of "rub their nose in it, kick them when they're down, posts then, and now you are asking those same fans to praise an Iowa victory. To me that's the definition of a classless thread.

It's no big deal. A lot of Cyclone fans take great pleasure when bad things happen to the Hawkeye, and vice-versa. The vice-versa is especially strong at this moment because some Hawkeye fans have been seriously butt hurt all year due to the beating they absorbed in CHA and the subsequent performance of both teams.
Anybody who actually cares shouldn't be spending time on the boards.
Yeah, it's just different segments of the fan base and who they like to hate.
For me, Iowa winning is more important, by a tremendous amount, than any other team losing. Way down the enjoyment list, in 2nd place, would be any Illinois loss. But, that's just because they are a bunch of cheaters...
Iowa State got upset this year, it happens. It does sound like you have a lot coming back next year, though.

Next year always has been the one I'm looking for; the success this year was an unexpected bonus. But the last thing I wanted or expected to be doing right now is talking about next year.
It's amazing how devastating an upset loss in the first round is. I'm watching last night, seeing a team we crushed advancing to the next round, and just shaking my head. It isn't that I begrudge the Hawks their success -- they certainly deserved it and played exceptionally well yesterday. It's that it re-emphasizes what ISU should be doing. And what makes the loss even worse is that it wasn't the result of the opponent playing well over its head. To the contrary, other than rebounding, UAB didn't play particularly well. ISU just sucked in every aspect of the game. And there are no do-overs.
Bottom line: Winning beats hell out of losing.
Good god people move on from Iowa State. They had a tough loss and we've all experienced it (ie...'06 Northwstrn St)
Oh and before you know it we will be talking about '15-'16 and ISU will be pre-season top 5 in the country....while the Hawks will be a fringe top 25-30 team again. If some of our newbies come in and give us something, something then we will be better than projected.

Why do fans go onto another anonymous message board to congratulate other fans? You didn't play in the game.
It is always the "next year" that the clowns are going to break through right Looney? Clown fans have been touting "next year" since Natty Light Larry.
The alternative is too see this years version for what they were. A team that could be had on any night by anyone playing in a conference that was over-rated. To me this is a return to normalcy for isu athletics.

Congratulate you for what? What did YOU accomplish? "Duh, I watched a TV, why am I not being congratulated?"
Your life must be pretty empty and void of meaning if you feel the compulsion to request that a cyclone fan 'validate' you for living vicariously through a basketball team. Read the definition of 'vicariously'. As soon as you say 'us', you meet the definition.

I'm sorry I expect people to act intelligently. I know it's not a popular position in todays world, when the role models come from 'Reality TV' (that's one of the newest and greatest oxymorons). Excuse me if I don't think 'the situation', the Kardashians, the Osbornes, Honey Boo Boo, Hardcore Pawn, etc, etc, etc... should be the standard of speech and behavior, but it is rapidly becoming such. I live in Ft Collins but yes lots and lots of Iowa fans here and all over the front range. I would safely guess 100,000 people in Colorado are originally from Iowa. Most all of them are Hawk fans. You don't see ISU fans across the country really anywhere but Iowa. Hawk fans are liitterally everywhere.
