His commitment would be the cherry on the Iowa season's ice cream, but he just got an offer from Alabama.

Hopefully he will commit before the Rose Bowl.

Please.

Highly doubt he does anything before the Rose Bowl since he is a '17 recruit and done no OV. He will be a last minute decision, hat announcing thing like at an all star game of some sort. Not saying he is that type as he as always come off as an excellent young man, but how often does the potential #1 player commit early...

Not a lot of good can come from a player's dad talking recruiting on twitter. Best thing he can do is stay silent and provide real life support to AJ.
My take is that it's not a red-flag, although I admit that it can be. In Eppy's case, my guess is that it relates to both a family thing and a cultural thing - a lot of people who are close to the family obviously have interest in AJ's situation, so twitter allows him to share info quickly and to everybody without having to repeat himself.

I hope the coaches keep shopping....this team has no use for a hat-trick kid.

No sarcasm at all.
I don't have a clue who he is, or where he's from, or what position he plays.

There are more elements to the game than any single recruit can change.

I wasn't trying to imply he was an attention seeker, my point was how often does the #1 recruit commit early and not enjoy the process. Hopefully and I believe it'll work out in the hawks favor. Just gotta wait most likely a full year yet.

Just so you don't problem with the kid, he has never suggested that he will do the hat trick.

He is a Hawkeye legacy recruit, a big Iowa fan, and has more options than anybody. I do know that his dad is very well liked.

What is his projected position? What is a legacy recruit?

Being a 2017 recruit, I would be surprised if he committed this year. There is no hurry for him, and Iowa and the rest of the college football world aren't going anywhere. I am glad Iowa is recruiting him off such a great season, then coming at him from a 7-5 angle. I think since the kids dad played here, if the kid grew up a hawk fan, we have a great chance. I don't see the Alabama offer swaying him as much as it did Ross Pierschbacher, since I don't believe he ever had family that played at Iowa.

He is ranked #27 on Rivals.

This year was huge for Kirk, staff and the future of Iowa football. We need this guy and the other from West Union, hopefully they see they can achieve everything they want at Iowa.

When I was in HS a girl on the bball team did the hat thing to pick UNI. So are you saying they shouldn't have taken her? Most High School kids like to have fun with the process and is done a hundred of times every year. Everything thing you read on AJ kid does not come off as an arrogant me type of player. He'd be a HUGE get for the hawks.

Thank goodness we have Seth Wallace and not you as our recruiting coordinator.
