Staying at residence inn Arcadia. Paying $325/night but there are 5 of us to split a king bed, queen bed, and pullout couch. Along with a kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

Holiday Inn LAX. Could I have found a cheaper room closer to the Rose Bowl? Probably. Paying $177 on 12/31 (saying in Vegas the night of 1/1 and flying home 1/2).

Unfortunately my travel dates are limited....I have to work New Year's Eve but my boss is letting me off at 2:00 here in Des Moines, so the earliest flight I can take is 3:25pm. We won't arrive in LA until 9:18pm. Not only have neither my brother nor I been to LA, but neither have driven in a city of this size. I chose a hotel next to LAX as opposed to driving anywhere in the greater Los Angeles area....at night...in the dark...on New Year's Eve.

Culver City in a house we rented for 5 days. Great deal for 4 adults and 4 kids!!

Four Points Sheraton in Rancho Cucamonga. $49 per night---sister works for Westin/Sheraton. We're about 44 minutes from Pasadena and almost the same to the LA Convention Center for the Huddle.

Travel Lodge (yuck) in Pasadena. Free with points. Normally $325/night Rose Bowl weekend and $79/night every other night...

Go to parkme.com, stay at the pasadena business park. Easy in and out, has tailgating catered, and has a free shuttle to and from the game. $25

We're staying at Residence Inn LAX. We're in and out on such a tight time frame made better sense - and was more affordable than what I was finding.
I started later though (which I now know better - and should have known better).
