Where the North Carolina fans at?

This Heels team is not at all a good shooting team. They stay in games with second - and third - chance points. They'll have to control the boards...dominate the boards...to have a chance, I think.

I haven't seen them play yet this season but I know they had a stellar recruiting class. Are most of their top players freshmen?

'Holiday hoops'?

What holiday is it, ESPN? Google says it's Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day. But that seems like kind of a minor holiday.

Brooks is turning into a very good big but most everyone else getting significant time is from the new class. Leaky and Platek are the only two upperclassmen other than Garrison seeing any real court time. This team just does NOT shoot well. Definitely not a danger from the 3-pt line yet.

Something's got to give then, because Iowa can't defend. The resistible force meets the moveable object.

Four guys averaging over 7 rebounds a game. Iowa needs to have an off shooting night for the Heels to have a prayer.

As a Heel fan too, this is a dumb thing to say considering your first post in this thread.

Four total meetings in the entire history of men's basketball is not a very good sample.

When I think of great basketball programs, I think of UCLA, Indiana, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, and yes... UNC.

Iowa is not exactly top-of-mind.

Matters not this year on this night. THIS is a very good Iowa team and a mediocre - at best - Heels team. UNC might be good by the end of whatever year we have left but the freshmen have a long way to go.

Hawks hold a 3-1 series record with 2 of those wins in Chapel Hill
Puts Iowa in a pretty elite group. Only a handful of schools have a winning record against UNC and only two - Texas and Indiana - who they've played 10 times or more have managed it.

Again... SMALL sample size.

I distinctly remember watching the Hawks beat the Heels in the Dean Dome in January 1989 when Marble took the free throws that Horton should have taken. Despite being an Iowa native who had never even visited North Carolina and had no connections there, I had a very strong premonition during that game that I would live in N.C. someday. A year later, I met a beautiful UNC grad in Washington, D.C. and eventually married her. I have lived in N.C. since 1992, and our daughter attends UNC. CSB.

P.S. My wife is watching the game in a separate room from me tonight because she can’t stand watching it with me.
