The rushing stats are deceiving.

You take away the garbage 33 yd TD run at the end and they rushed for 177 yds on 43 carries for a 4.1 ypc average.

That might seem like a lot..........Iowa averaged 4.8 ypc though.

Deal with it.

It is not just ypc, it is consistency. If you can guarantee 3.33 yards per carry you never punt.

IKM had runs of 17 and 19 yards. The other 12 carries his average is is 3ypc. Sargent had 6 carries for 14 yards--2.4 ypc. Wisconsin consistently got 5 yards on 1st down and then had easy run/pass options on 2nd and 3rd down.

The game was close...throw out the turnovers and Iowa can win 17-14. Football doesn't work that way---you turn the ball over you and if you are a really good team you still find a way to win. Don't give up that 7 minute Wisconsin TD drive where they took the lead or you convert for more than 3pts when you are inside the 5 twice.

Big blown opportunity.

Wiscy went 6 and 7 lineman a lot and iowa just stayed in 4-3. Almost have to bring in an extra lineman and play a modified goalline type defense against that look and dare them to throw it. Hard for 4 down linemen to eat up 6-7 blockers. Hard to get pressure against good o lines when you never blitz.
