Spiegel and Holmes were throwing this around on the Score recently. The Bulls are in perpetual mediocrity, and the Sox are in a bit of a rebuild mode for now. But, the other three teams seem to have a pathway to success. The Blackhawks adding a potential star in Spencer Knight with their young core, and 4 first round picks in the next two drafts, are poised to break out. The Cubs have a solid core with much improved pitching, but the looming work stoppage chills me that if they don't do it this year or next year, things will unravel a bit.
I'll go with the Bears. The ownership seems to have stood back and allowed strong voices to take over. They have a cost controlled QB, and a young HC with drive and visions.

Bandwagon Blackhawks fans are some of the worst people in pro sports fandom.

Connor Bedard will be good enough to lead the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup in a few years if they can surround him with enough support.

I'm not saying this will happen and I'm not a Blackhawks fan. I'm just saying that in a year or three Connor Bedard is going to be a top five player in his sport, which is something none of the other teams listed can claim.

There you go.

I went with the Sky because there's fewer teams in the WNBA and I'm less familiar with how bad they are while I am familiar with the others.

The Bears, I guess? With Ben Johnson as coach, and finally actively working to fix the offensive line, I'm optimistic for a marked improvement.

Cubs will never win again with the Ricketts family as owners. They caught lightning in a bottle in 2016. Now they seem to want to spend as little as possible without the bleacher fans actually rioting.

The Bulls are a dumpster fire.

I don't know enough about hockey to vote up or down on the Blackhawks, but every time I watch them they lose.

The Sky I will actively root against winning a single game with Angel Reese on the team.

The White Sox don't actually exist.

Perhaps the Chicago Slice-Chicago's pro pickleball team. None of the others have a chance in MHO...

CHICAGO — Chicago’s only professional pickleball team is now among the best in the nation.

Chicago Slice, the four-member co-ed team formed just last year, is heading into the 2025 season fresh off a promotion to Major League Pickleball’s premier division.

Chicago Slice teammates Jack Munro, Megan Fudge, Allison Harris and Brendon Long celebrated their promotion to the league’s top tier after winning the past season’s league championship. Major League Pickleball uses a promotion and relegation system between its premier and challenger tiers, similar to pro soccer.

“We’ve had a bunch of injuries and trades. We added a coach and made so many shifts and adjustments throughout the season,” Munro said. “But that was our goal since day one, being promoted to premier.”

Major League Pickleball launched three years ago to capitalize on the sport’s rising popularity. Since then, the league has grown to feature 22 co-ed teams across its premier and challenger levels and attracted investors and franchise owners like NBA star LeBron James.

I haven’t followed the Hawks as closely as I used to. Have the fans started growing impatient with Bedard yet? He was billed as the next Sidney Crosby but so far he only has a little more than half the number of goals Crosby had early in his career.

Not sure as I don't really follow the Blackhawks. The dude has raw talent that can't be taught/developed though.

At first I went Cubs — they’re the closest as currently constructed. But the Ricketts won’t spend like a true big market club and that will keep them from competing with the Dodgers, Yankees, etc.

I honestly think it’s the Bears.

With the Blackhawks not on TV anymore, I hadn’t even heard about the Seth Jones trade. God I would love for them to be good again. Nothing beats playoff hockey.

No. Keep in mind he's barely old enough to fap. His game has a lot of room to grow, and Kyle Davidson had some stench to clean up on the roster and in the office. He's doing a pretty good job. The roster is young, but very talented, and, as I mentioned, 4 more 1st round picks in the next two years. He's done a good job turning bad contracts into draft picks and useful players.

I can’t believe Davidson fleeced the Panthers as hard as he did, getting Spencer Knight and a 1st round pick for Seth Jones while only having to retain 26% of Seth’s cap hit. That’s some Obi-Wan Kenobi shit.

I like Seth Jones. He was one of my favorite players in Columbus and I remember watching him score a goal on a broken ankle. But that contract Stan Bowman gave him was ridiculous.

I only cheer for the Bulls. But they aren't winning shit for a long time

You Bears, Cubs, and White Sox fans are saps

Here’s my list in order of least likely to most likely.

Sky - worst run org of the bunch, and that’s saying something.
Sox - won’t do anything until Reinsdorf gives up control of the team.
Bulls - won’t do anything until Reinsdorf gives up control of the team.
Cubs - in a league with no salary cap, having owners that won’t spend big bucks will hold them back.
Blackhawks - current ownership already showed they can build a dynasty with good draft picks, can they do it again?
Bears - Virginia is gone, but there is hope with recent changes and additions. Most important position in sports seems to be filled finally.

Only reason I have the Bears in the best position is because they have a head start over the Blackhawks in that they aren’t going to have to wait for future draft picks to develop into winners.

The Blackhawks are great at acquiring draft picks, but they get an F for developing their talent. Until they can figure that piece out, I have no hope.

I think the Bears are heading in the right direction, but they need more top end talent. The Cubs are a slightly above average team and they could make the playoffs and make a run to the World Series, crazier things have happened. And I have no hope for the Bulls or Sox, sadly. I voted for the Sky.

Chicago Fire not included? Meh they aren't close to a title anyway.
It’s crazy that they went from six major titles and two CONCACAF bronze medals from 1998 to 2006, regularly 25-30k at Soldier Field and standing room only at Bridgeview, to an afterthought in the market. Just incredible mismanagement after their sale.

100%. There's so much soccer in the area that you would think it wouldn't die. Instead... management.

Chicago Hounds just took over first place in Major League Rugby’s East Division, after beating formerly first place Miami away last night🤞. Even better, they have a Cedar Rapids Washington/Iowa Central alum.

There isn't a single player on the Blackhawks' roster or in its organization that will be on the club the next time that it wins a Cup imo.....it'll be that long
