I will agree that it's the best comedy of the 80's and perhaps Cusack's best work....but it's not a ski movie.
The skiing is just a plot device, not the focus of the movie. Look at the film poster you linked...where do you see skis or snow?
Why does it show up in all these lists of “best ski movies” then? 🤔

In 2020, the film "Downhill" was released. It stars Will
Ferrell & Julia Louis-Dreyfus. This is definitely a good
ski movie and deserves our appreciation.
I heard it from multiple sources this movie is godawful. Like really terrible.

Because there aren't that many ski movies and they needed items for the list.

BTW, you'll notice that Hot Dog is the at or near the top of all those lists....

Never heard of either, but in the 90s my roommate and I always threw in Aspen Extreme while waxing our skis after first dusting--it became a 6-year tradition.

The worst post is the last post on a thread...it gets unfairly buried.

My wife and I saw it on a date night and it was such a downer because the movie is mostly just one big reminder of all the crappy fights couples go through. We get so few date nights as it is with little kids at home and then we waste it on a movie that just spends two hours reminding us that sometimes relationships suck.
