Which player is most likely to transfer?

Where is a scholarship for Baer gonna come from?

According to NCAA.org, nearly 40% of all 4-4 high school student athletes who go D1 out of high school transfer by the end of their sophomore year.

Baer will be on scholarship by the start of his 4th year on campus as I think the chances of nobody transferring between now and the start of the 2017-18 season at about .01%. I would guess there is a 75% chance someone transfers at the end of this year and unless it is academic driven, feel like Hutton and Moss are the least likely to do so.

I get why people dislike threads like this, the speculation, and insinuation that you might welcome or encourage a transfer by discussing it, but the fact is they happen at a high rate these days so its inevitable that one occurs at Iowa within the next year and a half. Attrition was a huge issue for our previous coaching staff and I think Fran has done a wonderful job at rebuilding the program and the culture within. We've seen very few transfers all things considered and it seemed like those that did leave did so on good terms(with exception to Hubbard) and that was a weird case/situation from the beginning.

Fran is going to have one heck of a time settling on a rotation next year, there are so many interchangeable parts and combos he can utilize. I think its fair to say that could potentially be a blessing or a curse, depending on how he is able to manage it and how players respond. Simply based on numbers and projections, we have a lot of players at the off guard/wing position, so I think that grouping is the most likely to produce a transfer. Then again, the body language of Dom Uhl sure is curious and concerning. I'm not sure I've seen an Iowa player during the past 35 years play with such an expressionless and disengaged demeanor. Its rare to see him smile and he doesn't seem to interact much at all on the bench with his teammates or coaches. The kid has a lot of talent, but his body language suggests he is not enjoying himself. Again, I could be totally wrong in my impressions of Dom as it relates to his happiness at Iowa, but I suspect there is something going on there and its something to watch between now and next year.

Uhl's body language suggests he isn't happy with Iowa, whether it's his realization that he's a very mediocre basketball player or he doesn't like the program.

I do not see any of this; I see a very similar personality to Jarrod: a laid back dude.

Uhl's playing some pretty good basketball for a sophomore without a ton of experience. I'm especially pleased with what I perceive as more aggressiveness on the glass.

Read the whole thing...strange topic. Why would the kids transfer. Four senior starters are leaving. They've all just got to witness the fragility of playing time...Dale Jones down to zero. Would Baer even be getting the minutes if Jones is healthy. Every kid wants to be a star but every team has twice as many reserves as starters. For example, if I'm Fleming I'm thinking I can beat Ellingson for time next year. If Moss can stay eligible he's got to be thinking of Jok's minutes in a couple of years.

Cautiously optimistic about Baer though. Good shooter is a good shooter and you can never have too many, especially if they're 6'8." Is showing a nose for the ball and an ability to be in the right spot at the right time. Can't teach height and IQ.

We go through this practically every year. I remember when Basabe was going to transfer. Several people thought Uhl wasn't going to ruturn this year. I'm probably thought of as someone who goes overboard in favor of our players and I don't want anyone to leave.

That said, I think Jok is going to blow up this year and go pro opening up a scholarship for Baer.
