...think about the 1970 team putting up 75 points in the first half against # 9 Notre Dame in the NCAA tournament, without the benefit of the 3 point shot!!! Finished with 121, likely been over 130 with 3 point play in effect...
I remember that game well, but it was bitter-sweet as it was a NCAA consolation game...I'm glad they dumped those games.

As has been mentioned many times on this board, that team averaged more than 100 points per game in conference games while going 14-0 in Big Ten play. I'll never forget or forgive Pembrook Burroughs III for making the shot that kept the Hawkeyes out of the final four.

The Hawks took 98 shots in that game (ND 97) compared to 65 shots last night for both Iowa and MD.

195 shots is an average of one every 12.3 seconds.
