Comments a poster made after the Nebraska loss.....that the seniors deserved to play the majority of the game even at the expense of losing, and that fans should just accept whatever happens without complaint got me to thinking.
Who does Iowa basketball (or football for that matter) "belong" to?
The University?
The players?
The coach?
The fans?
Should fans (as many posters believe) just keep their mouths shut, accept and be happy with whatever happens?
Do fans have the right to criticize? To what extent?
Do fans have the right to want better?
Do fans have any vested interest at all?
Does the team belong to the coach? Should he/she not be held accountable for wins/losses?
Do the teams exist solely for the players?
Or are the teams the property of the University, with no consideration for the fans?
Why does Iowa field football and basketball teams, and for who?
I would be interested in hearing people's thoughts!
