Who in the hell was that team in the black??!!

That was so much fun. The Rocky comp is spot on. ISU is a really tough, physical team and Iowa bullied them from the jump.

Rebraca is not going to dominate the B1G, but he has really stepped up his game and he’s really tough. Inside, he gives me some Big Cat Kreiner vibes (just not the outside shot).

Big Cat Kreiner? 2.9 rebound a game Big Cat Kreiner?

I hope FR’s play the rest of the season are in line with tonight’s. Great effort both ends of the court.

I didn’t compare stats, so this is just a gut offensive memory comp. Maybe I’m just terrible at this. I do think Rebraca is better defensively…but also Big Cat played his whole career with Garza, so that took some opportunities away.

Perkins dunk was hilarious with that little white boy came running in and them both slipping with tony yelling back down the court.

He could have made a bigger splash than the 5 point 3 rebound a game career average had he used his 6-10” frame on the glass more instead of roaming around out front. There were flashes, just not as many as there could have been. My opinion only.

Great win for the Hawks! Saw some real energy last night that we haven't seen in a couple of weeks. Great crowd! Very satisfying WIN!

FR played the game of his life (so far)! CMac played a very solid floor game, and PMac finally hit some shots.

I think the defense looked better than it actually was though - ISU 3-22 from 3 pt. Plenty of those were uncontested.

The amazing part to me - Ulis, Perk and Sandfort were a combined 7-21 with 9 TO's and the Hawks win by 19. And, obviously, Murray didn't even play. Pretty remarkable result for the Hawks.

Now get Bucky!

Iowa's overall energy and effort was great, especially in the opening 5-10 minutes when the game was mostly decided. Good job by Iowa. Then the shots were going in, and it kind of feeds on itself.

A few interesting things.

Iowa shot better on 3's (12-23) than 2's (12-25). Just shows how basketball can be weird.
A red flag is that Iowa allowed ISU to shoot 21-37 on 2-point shots. Points out that without Kr. Murray Iowa has a real hard time defending at the rim. But ISU didn't really take advantage by hoisting up 22 3-pointers, and making only 3.
Iowa had by far its worst game of the season in handling the ball. Turned it over 18 times in a 68 possession game.
Iowa won by making 3's and getting to the line a lot more than ISU. Great job by the team finding a way to win without its best player.

Tenacious D (from the tip), UNBELIEVABLE boxing out all game long, hitting 3 pointers, handling (for the most part) tough D all game long (against a great defensive team mind you), I mean wowza!

Rebraca had decided who was going to win that game in the first 5-6 minutes of this game!
Has Iowa ever worn their black uni”s at home before? It just looked weird kinda like the USC vs UCLA football games

Loved the Hawks wearing black at home. USC-UCLA have been wearing their home jerseys when they meet in football for some time. I think it's awesome, and I'd like to see Iowa-ISU do the same thing in football. Nobody has a B&W TV anymore. The colors looked fantastic. And the scoreboard didn't look so bad either.
