So did anyone think at the mid point of the season that the men's team would be more fun to watch then the womens?
I guess I was trying to be optimistic about Jan and the girls but it looking a little rough right now....I did but i am not a huge womens basketball fan

Aren’t most? Clark was fun to watch but women’s bb can be painful to watch. So did anyone think at the mid point of the season that the men's team would be more fun to watch then the womens?
Yes because with out clark it’s still womens bball. Even with Clark the amount of easy shots missed was tough to take but she and the winning made up for it. But back to status quo again. So did anyone think at the mid point of the season that the men's team would be more fun to watch then the womens?
wouldn’t have been the popular choice but hiring Jenny lillis (different last name now) at OU instead of giving it to Jensen would’ve been the better option. She’s a better coach.I guess I was trying to be optimistic about Jan and the girls but it looking a little rough right now....
Its just a question my man. I am cheering for both, and still watch every game thats on. Still I had hoped for more from the senior class that what we've seen, although I was never sold that AOG or KF were suddenly going to become more consistent players in year 4 or 5.Why do we have to do this? The women are playing poorly, no denying that. The men have struggled at times but played awesome tonight.
Can't we just cheer for both and hope for the best?
I still think Jan can turn it around.
It's hard to get excited about 6'3" post players with negative wingspans and the athleticism of the average plummer.I did but i am not a huge womens basketball fan
If sexism must get mixed into the conversation of which product is better, then people don't know what they're watchingSorry didn't mean to sound sexist or whatever. l just don't make the time for it or particularly like it.
Woodson sucks as a coach. But hell yeah!IU men's BB program has a 6 million player payroll this year.
Beating these high-rollers by 25 with an Iowa roster that might have a 1 million player payroll is great fun indeed.
Well done Hawks!
Your turn today, ladies!
Go Hawkeyes!
Yes. just about anybody who actually understands the game believed that CC was a once in a lifetime player that elevated the teams play. Everyone else was still playing the way they had been for the last decade. Her ability just covered up the lack of speed and talent for the non-discerning fans.So did anyone think at the mid point of the season that the men's team would be more fun to watch then the womens?
Was hoping the men would play better and exciting, which I think they are.
Was expecting the women's team would play exciting team ball, which they are struggling at.
Feel they are looking at each other for leadership on the floor and it's not happening.
Confidence issue maybe?
I thought watching Three's Company reruns would be better.
I’ve seen this show before.
Well, kind of what happens when you don't have a star now. Many of the top women scorers played in the last decade. We had six first team all AA in the last decade, Gus twice, Doyle, and CC22 three times, and 3 NPOTY, and should have been 5. There is NO star currently on this team, and no one who says "give me the rock, I got this".This is the worst Iowa womens bball team in at least the last 12 years.
Actually, I think most here thought Lucy was/would be that person and it has not fully happened.Well, kind of what happens when you don't have a star now. I think Lucys a good player. I do not think she would have averaged 23+ points a game in the B1G last year. I also think that given our post offense, AND that fact that we just don't have enough reliable and consistent 3 point shooters around her is limiting her game. We talked about this before the season even started. That there would be too much congestion in the lane for the way she likes to play, and with her not being a high usage perimeter shooter, it just adds to the congestion. She has tried to adapt, and is shooting more from three with varying levels of success in some games. The better teams we play will clog the lane and force us to make jump shots. I think this is why Jan is rethinking the 2 post players on the floor together.Actually, I think most here thought Lucy was/would be that person and it has not fully happened.
The men are fun to watch when they are shooting well...the rest of their game leaves a bit to be desired. When they get your hopes up, Lucy pulls the ball away!So did anyone think at the mid point of the season that the men's team would be more fun to watch then the womens?
