Is the B1G just too fast & strong for the Clones or does the B1G conference just have a lot of teams better than the Clones?

Shouldn't the question be why can't Iowa beat B1G teams given the NIT game today?

Keep in crying in your cereal. We actually beat some of them including Purdue, Wisconsin, Michigan and don't forget the Big 12 champs in ISU. We were way too inconsistent and then there was the whole national narrative that the B1G was garbage. Remember that? Well this garbage league is 5-1 against the power 5/6 with 2-0 agsinst both the # 1 & # 2 RPI leagues in the ACC & Big 12.

Boiler up baby!!! Go B1G or go home!

Iowa went 10-8 in conference play. Not bad for a team comprised of freshmen and sophomores. Iowa's issue was the bad losses they had prior to conference play.

Regardless, his attempt and your attempt to poke fun at the rival school are equally lame. Correction, you're lurking on an Iowa message board at 7 am on a Sunday, so yours is way lamer.

Very nice reply. One in pointing out rational facts and second for calling out the trolling poster. I love guys like this from rival who cry about how Iowa fans so obsessed with their team yet they are on here early on Sunday morning or posting multiple times on a Friday or Saturday night.

It's unbelievable. And in truth, really sad. I don't know what their motivation is for being here. A self esteem boost?

I don't get it. It's like they expect Iowa fans to bow down and worship them for being fans of the "nationally relevant" Cyclone basketball team and apologize for us being Hawkeye fans on a Hawkeye message board. Seriously, if you're so great, why do you need validation from us?

Well, for the Cyclone trolls out there, here you go: You guys are awesome. Nationally relevant without question. Every team in America is dying to have their best conference finish (in a 10-team conference) be tied for 3rd place. And so many other teams in America are absolutely green with envy at your two Sweet 16 losses in 7 seasons. National relevance must feel so amazing.

Yes, we get it, Cyclone friends. The Iowa State basketball program has been better than Iowa's during this decade, although marginally better at best since Iowa has been able to finally climb out of the Lickliter mess these past few years. With that said, there are no Iowa fans on this board (at least I've never seen one) who will make any sort of claim that Iowa basketball has been better this decade. None. So your constant reiteration of that only proves one) you still have inferiority issues and two) are very adept at laying siege of a vacant castle.

Where Iowa fans, however, take issue with you outstanding, classy basketball fans, is the part where you tout this whole Iowa State basketball blue blood/national prominence thing. I'm sorry that there are no Iowa fans here who want to join you in departing from reality, but gosh, that's kind of to be expected, right?

Again, congratulations on your two Sweet 16 losses in 7 years and your two amazing tied-for-3rd-place finishes in the mighty ten-team Big XII conference. We Iowa fans are absolutely humbled to be in the presence of such greatness. Now, could you do all of us a solid and depart from this board for a while...uhh, scratch that, how about forever so we can soak all of that greatness in? Thank you so much for you cooperation. And remember, keep smiling. You're all very beautiful, and throughout the country there are many Duke fans, Michigan State fans, Kentucky fans, Kansas fans and so many other great college basketball fans marveling at your national relevance... and left with nothing but absolute pangs of jealousy.

FYI the Cyclones were in a three-way tie with Baylor and West Virginia for SECOND place in the Big 12, not third.

Iowa State doesn't lose to bad Big XII teams..... oh wait. They did lose to TCU too. Pot meet kettle.

ISU beat TCU at home and in KC, and that was with their starting PG. TCU's conference record doesn't reflect how tough they are though.

ISU beat TCU twice. By a lot. Kinda funny Iowa fans trying to discount what ISU has done for the last 6 years. Iowa basketball is trying to get to the point that Iowa State has been for years. It's cute.

What point has ISU gotten to? ISU lost to Iowa, again no conference title and got beat in game two of the NCAA tournament. Certainly not a point most programs strive for.

6 straight NCAA appearances, 2 Sweet 16's, 3 of the last 4 conference tourney championships, top 25 rankings .........Iowa may get to that level with this group. But as I watched games this weekend, there are several Big 10 teams playing young guys.

ISU plays on the outside and lives and dies with it. They really have no answer for teams that have solid bigs and that has been the case for the last 5-6 years.

And it has worked out quite well for them!

Yes and no.

They have been good but arent every going to get to elite status without addressing their style of play. Just like we arent going to be great until we start teaching defense and rebounding.

You very rarely see niche teams go to the final four or beyond; usually balanced teams.

You rarely see any team but bluebloods go to the final four. Most schools are going to require some sort of combination of serious luck, or a pile of talent occuring at the same time.

I think we'll see a different ISU team next year and going forward under Prohm, which is much more focused on defense, rebounding, and ball control. I don't expect that focus to be rewarded with a final four, because I don't think final fours are really anything worth expecting as an ISU fan.

ISU football has been a dumpster fire for 100 years. It's cute.

They had a pretty good answer for Purdue during their run yesterday. That game could have gone either way after ISU tied and took the lead.

So let me get this straight clone fans on here making fun of Iowa for losing to TCU. However some actually realize ISU lost to them too so now the narrative is if they'd been in another conference besides Big 12 they would of done better....
