i feel like you needed to provide some context with the questions. @Moral ’s later post about FDIC helped and i assume that’s where your worries (justifiably) arise…
my take is that national productivity and a strong military in a sense preserve strength of the dollar relative to others but internally we the people get to choose between status quo (helicopter money) and unpredictable policy changes. overall i think my money is as safe or unsafe as everyone else but whether it actually is safe i don’t know.

Entitlement reform is kryptonite politically so we’ll keep chugging towards the eventual train wreck. It’s around 60% of the budget.
The DOD budget could be cut to 0 and we’d still be running a annual budget deficit.
Yep and this is potentially compounded by the fact Trump is about to be done with the scripted part of his term. He and his team had a laundry list of items/EO's/actions to take at the start of this term, but now he has to deal with the unknown outcomes from his initial actions. And I simply don't have any faith in his real-time reactions to anything off-script going forward. Gonna be a shitshow here pretty soon.
Well, yes in many respects it's already a shitshow (the whoops we didn't mean to fire the nuclear team would qualify in that regard).
But my comment was more related to the comment about things being worse in a month, and why I feel like it could be worse once Trump has to start going off-script (and when that happens we start getting into the "inject disinfectant and UV light" realm of Trump).
Let's see, what more could Orange Musk do to make life difficult for people. They could cut or illegally turn off Soc Sec payments to millions, or at least delay them and stop the for awhile.
They could get rid of your FDIC protections and if the economy goes south maybe runs on banks could occur.
They could cut or end Medicare and/or Medicade which would make some really poor people not get healthcare at all or they would go broke when they have a bad health outcome.
Right there in those 3 items they could render 100 million people in to the poor house or close to it.
Trump and his cronies and his big backers like House leader Mike "puke" Johnson who is a so called really religious evangelical are totally off the judeo-christian scale and breaking a bunch of the 10 commandments a lot of their religious followers say they hold so dearly.
Totally lying when questioned and when they promise this and that, totally wanting other peoples stuff, greed, stealing, coveting like with trump wanting to be the head of the Kennedy Center. REally this is greed and lying and coveting false power
Do you know people who live paycheck to paycheck, or do not have much money nor a job, or who live from month to month on Sco Security. Do you have friends and family who are going to be drastically hurt by loss of healthcare like medicare and medicaid?
You think we have a homeless problem now, haha , just wait if these asshats like some of the really nasty people like Rick Scott and Ron Johnson in the Senate try to take away the only things supporting millions of people.
Any type of major cuts or changes or damage to Soc Sec and Medicare will be met with outrage and many legal suits started as a class action suit by American citizens because they put the money into those two programs. Those programs dont run on Govt revenues from income taxes. Those programs run on the people's money that are in a trust fund. Medicare would maybe have some govt money in it so we shall see.

Are you sure FDIC will be around in a few months? And they might decide to tax certain people like you with all your cash a hefty amount just because you are not buying Dumpster bitcoin. SSI does need to be reformed - as in recapturing the billions paid to dead people. As in raising the earnings ceiling so higher earners keep contributing. As in raising the initial age for claiming benefits since people are living longer and working longer.
NO POLITICIAN WANTS TO ELIMINATE SSI.
