This Greenland obsession is ridiculous.

Greenland’s people are bracing for another visit from U.S. President Donald Trump’s inner circle, with second lady Usha Vance set to travel to the autonomous Danish territory this week as her husband ratchets up talk about U.S. security and “territorial” interests in the vast Arctic island coveted by the administration.

Greenland’s prime minister warned Sunday of “American aggression” and lamented a “mess” caused by the upcoming visit from Vance, who reportedly will be accompanied by Trump’s national security adviser. The same day, Vice President JD Vance — her husband — blasted Denmark for “not doing its job” and “not being a good ally.”

“So you have to ask yourself: How are we going to solve that problem, solve our own national security?” JD Vance said on Fox News. “If that means that we need to take more territorial interest in Greenland, that is what President Trump is going to do, because he doesn’t care about what the Europeans scream at us.”

Denmark is a NATO ally of the United States, and Greenland already houses a U.S. military base.

Hubris at its best right here. JD is a dunce of epic proportions. A colossal piece of shite, really.

is her trip in official capacity or vacation?

Greenland’s prime minister said a planned visit to the island by US officials, including second lady Usha Vance, is “highly aggressive,” plunging relations to a new low after President Donald Trump vowed to annex the autonomous Danish territory.

Vance, the wife of US Vice President JD Vance, will travel to Greenland this week to watch the island’s national dogsled race and “celebrate Greenlandic culture and unity,” according to a statement from the White House. National security adviser Mike Waltz is also expected to visit the territory this week, according to a source familiar with the trip.

Sounds like a coordinated group of US officials to me. She will be attending a dogsled race so maybe she's calling it a vacation, but we all know better.

Usha is taking JD along. Is it normal to add the VP to a trip just before it happens? It’s almost like the WWE White House is generating content to take away from its disastrous dysfunction.

I hope he, as a representative of the Trump administration, gets the reception he deserves.

Read it in the Gazette on Monday or yesterday.
JD said he was going to meet her there so she couldn't have all the fun I believe.
Vice President JD Vance will travel to Greenland this week, joining his wife on a visit to the massive island President Donald Trump wants the U.S. to take over.

Trump has unnerved Greenland's leaders by offering to purchase it from Denmark − without ruling out military action or economic coercion.

Vance announced his visit on X on Tuesday afternoon, elevating a trip that his wife, Usha Vance, was scheduled to headline, but that Greenland's leaders characterized as an uninvited trip meant to intimidate them.

Denmark's foreign minister on Wednesday said the decision was the right one.

"I think it's very positive the Americans cancelled their visit to the Greenlandic society. Instead, they will visit their own base, Pituffik, and we have nothing against that," Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen told broadcaster DR.

Vance's pitch: 'A different direction'

"There was so much excitement around Usha's visit to Greenland this Friday that I decided I didn't want her to have all that fun by herself, and so I'm going to join her," Vance said in a video announcement."

"I'm going to join some of our guardians in the Space Force on the northwest coast of Greenland and also just check on what's going on with the security there," Vance added.

Vance said leaders in the U.S. and Denmark have ignored Greenland "for far too long." "We think we can take things in a different direction, so I'm going to go check it out," he said.

Sled dogs and minerals

The second lady was scheduled to arrive Thursday with one of their sons and a U.S. delegation to attend cultural events including a dogsled race. They are scheduled to leave Saturday. The Vice President's office said the couple would no longer attend the dogsled race.

Sounds like they responded to the backlash and removed the 1 "vacation like" activity from the itinerary. Visiting a Space Force base doesn't sound like a vacation to me.
