For basketball it has always been white at home and dark on the roadWhat happened to dark uniforms at home and whites on the road?
Not in the movie Hoosiers! For basketball it has always been white at home and dark on the road
Decades ago, the Cleveland Browns traditionally wore “white uniforms” at home. Owner Paul Brown thought is a good marketing idea to allow Clevelanders to see the “opponents” colors. Cleveland Browns seldom wore their colors at home….afew other franchises have bought into this idea periodically over the years….The Browns now wear “home colors” frequently since they “re-entered” The League in 1999. But from the 50’s until they moved to Baltimore in the 90’s, they primarily wore whites at home. What happened to dark uniforms at home and whites on the road?
Cowboys and the Redskins used to always wear white uniforms at home. The Cowboys still do and back in the day the only time you would see Dallas in blue uniforms was against Washington. And the only time you would see the Redskins in their maroon uniforms was against Dallas.Decades ago, the Cleveland Browns traditionally wore “white uniforms” at home. Hmm, I was a Cowboys fan when I was a kid so I wonder if this is partially why to this day I prefer white/light unis regardless of sport?Cowboys and the Redskins used to always wear white uniforms at home. It was a PR ploy by the owner. The Cowboy's were an “expansion team” and ownership thought it a great gimmick to introduce their fans to The NFL in those early days in the 60’s. I remember back in those early days, about the only time I ever saw Cleveland in their “home” uniforms was when they were in Dallas.

Major psychological breakthrough! Thanks!

Yes. We were the road team that game.I remember we wore our black "away" unis in that great NIT game against Dayton when they were unable to hold the home game. Would love to watch that game again!
??? Its never been that way for basketball.......What happened to dark uniforms at home and whites on the road?

Very well might be but the Brownies were doing it for a decade or so before Dallas joined the League. That's the story of the Dallas Cowboys.
