Why should it have been Johns?

So is there any possibility that Johns isn't completely out of the picture to join the staff? There is a history with Johns and Lester, so they know each other. Plus Johns does have WR experience. Co-coordinator roles are really not terribly unusual, but doesn't seem like KF's style so I'd rate that possibility as fairly low.
Maybe this possibility has already been ruled out as I haven't paid close attention.

It would have work out the same way as the back up quarterback will always work out. It should be also noted that discussion only arises when the first string quarterback isn't getting it done. We just haven't seen this first string quarterback play a game yet.
I don't think that is what is going on specifically but something like that is going on. I think there may be a lot of moving parts in this. I'm only saying this because it seems pretty odd for it taking so long for it to be officially announced.
Obviously, nobody knows. We can follow Johns' career from here and see if he ends up being more successful as a P5 OC (assuming that's what he continues to do), but it will still be speculation.
I really like the idea of Johns being OC/WR and Lester being QB coach. That would have been great hires for KF. Too bad.

We have absolutely no idea, of course. But Johns has more OC experience.
On the other hand, Lester has been a HC. Very valuable experience too.
