Why the GOP Hates the Postal Service

My point is that if you're willing to throw the Postal Service under the bus, you had better do the same for our military.
You're complaining about the USPS trying to cut costs?

BTW, UPS and FedEx won't go to a whole heck of a lot more houses...

Sure they will. All I care about is having the BEST service possible, I don't care who that is. What I don't understand is why just assume that the USPS is the only one that can do it?

The USPS is doing a horrible job with customer service. Stupid things like NOT delivering to your address, stupid things like not selling stamps at a post office (Marion Post office).

What if Amazon could provide better service anywhere on earth 24/7/365 for less cost? Then why keep the USPS? It very likely could happen.

I don't think they have been trying to undermine them, just getting their finances in order. The one thing I still think is stupid is Saturday delivery. Seriously, just do it 5 days a week and be done with it.
Yes, the GOP has done this in the past 40 years by opposing any meaningful rate changes and blocking the USPS efforts to be the leader in postal/mail delivery, allowing private enterprises ?(UPS and Fed Ex) to gain an unfair competitive edge and forcing the USPS to run huge deficits as they try to meaningfully compete for business.

Also having these tiny Post Offices in tiny towns with a Postmaster is an incredible waste of money.

The last several Amazon packages I have received have been delivered to my mailbox by USPS personnel. FedEX and UPS often use USPS service for the local delivery of their packages. I assume when you bought your house you knew there was a community box, correct?

Community type mail receptacles are one of he ways they can keep postage at less than 50 cents. I personally think it's amazing they can go to grandma's house in Boston pick up a handwritten birthday card drive it to the airport and put it on a plane and fly it to Hawaii then run to the airport pick it up and run it over to the grandkids front door and put it in the box all for less than 50 cents.
