Your first mistake was reading foxnews once you get that problem fixed then we can talk about college choices.

Since the substance of this story changes through the news source.. Iowa State is calling this free speech.. pretty soft and pathetic by the school of you ask me

That tweet is just one reason not to attend Iowa State, there are many more I'm sure. I'm also sure the University of Iowa has a socialist group or 2 hanging around tweeting garbage too.

To start I just posted it for fun, I love politics and everything it entails. I honestly love all of the Iowa schools and only root against Iowa State if they play the Hawks. I'm not trying to oust anybody on their politically views, just thought it was an interesting read that pertained to an in-state school. It also had an extremely interesting segment about how Iowa State supported their right for "free speech" and that's what drove me to post about it.

I don't like talking politics but today's "left" aren't a good examples of what Democrats stand for. My parents both came from families that were Democrats and believe me these wack job self proclaimed leftists are not Democrats. A true Democrat was the open minded party, a party more willing to vote on what's best for majority. Willing to adapt to change.. Hence liberal vs conservative. Being a liberal doesn't embrace changing what made this county great, it doesn't mean taking away rights. That said my family doesn't want to be associated in any way with what is now called the Democratic party so for the most part we all vote Republican. My point in all this is, let's try to refrain from judging each other based on political views here. I honestly believe that most people(if not all) who post here don't condone the actions of these idiots that are trying harder to divide this country rather than making it a better place for all of us.

I don't disagree with the first part of your post about leftists but to vote with the Republican Party which is the polar opposite of what traditional Democrats stood for and has also diverged so far from traditional conservative values seems really odd.
REALLY dumb comment; you and a few others on this board clearly cannot read. I didn't say, or even imply, that all liberals would see nothing wrong with threatening to shoot the president. I said there were liberals on the HROT board who would be fine with it. There are.
Well our way of thinking is why stick with tradition and vote for something that we don't agree with or try to vote best option available. I shouldn't have said we vote strictly republican its really come down to voting for who you believe will do the best job regardless. That said, we have really been trending conservative lately.
