I’ll take that, I’m not sure if I believe that we’re a top 25 team though.
Just the ebb and flow of a season. Iowa is still on pace to finish around .500 in conference and barely squeeze into the tournament.
Which is well above pre season expectations so it’s all good. Just dance baby, anything can happen from there.
Iowa basketball might be the only program where the fans are harsher on their team than national guys.
If they go .500 in the conference, I think they'll be a lock. If the season ended today, they'd probably be a 6 seed.

I still don’t think this team makes the tournament. But if they play tough & hit the boards like last night, maybe they can sneak in.

They deserve it. Iowa will finish just over .500 in the B1G and be an 8 seed in the tournament. They will win their first round game and bow out in the 2nd getting outrebounded by double digits. Keegan will be a first team All American and B1G POTY and get drafted 8th overall becoming the first lottery pick in Iowa history and first top ten pick since Ronnie Lester. Kris gets an NBA evaluation where he grades out as a second rounder and decides to play one more year to improve his draft stock to the first round to ensure a guaranteed contract. You heard it all here first.
This all seems reasonable except B1G POTY. If Iowa finished just over .500, he's not getting B1G POTY with Cockburn and Davis on better teams.
Could be, but if the records are close and Keegan's numbers are superior he has a pretty good shot. Those other players have a much stronger supporting cast. We'll have to see.
Keegan could be the NPOY if he stayed at Iowa one more season. It won't happen, but I think it would help his game before making the jump to the NBA.
Nah. Keegan is ready if he wants it and he'll be a high pick whether this year or next. I think he probably will. Kris is the interesting one. This might be his last year at Iowa also regardless of whether he goes pro or not. With Keegan gone it wouldn't surprise me too much if he transfers out to another program. He's a competitor and if I had to guess he doesn't see that wide a gulf between Keegan and himself talent wise. I'm sure he's happy for his brother but the lack of opportunity might be eating at him right now. I'd be kinda surprised if it wasn't.

I'm not sure why Kris would leave. He's not ready for the NBA yet. Kris needs to continue hitting the weights to build his strength and refine his game.
I think Keegan is probably gone as well after this year, but I do think another year in college could possibly help in in the long run. Perhaps development happens quicker when players are pros though as long as they get playing time.
If Kris stays in school, he isn’t going anywhere. Look at the success keegan has had this yr, kris knows he’ll slide right into that role and he’ll get all the opportunities he needs to showcase himself. And they should be a better team overall next year.
I am assuming Keegan is gone after this year. Hopefully Kris comes back one more year with the promise that next year the offense goes through him like it is this year for Keegan. He can build himself into a lottery pick.
He's a man amongst boys, he won't gain anything from playing another year of college. He'd be better off in the G-league, but I think right into the NBA is his best option. He needs real competition.
That you think Kris would transfer, is my guess! How did you come up with that scenario? Kris isn’t going anywhere but the NBA, hopefully after next season, you thinking he would transfer is pretty ridiculous!
I didn't say he would. I said it's a possibility. You act like nobody does it. You see there's this thing called the portal. In fact Iowa State built a top 10 team through it this year...
It's unlikely based upon the family's mentality and ties to Iowa but not out of the question. Keegan will be in the NBA. Maybe Kris wants to be closer to whatever city Keegan ends up in. Or maybe Kris wants to develop in areas he thinks another coach could help with more than Fran. Or maybe he wants to try to win a championship. Or maybe he simply wants a piece of the bag too (unlikely) and goes to whichever school will pay well and give him a good shot at a championship. There are a lot of factors in play that could lead to his decision to part with Iowa.
I don't necessarily think Kris leaves. It just wouldn't shock me. I think that if this season continues to play out this way with Kris riding the pine that the relationship might get strained. His brother and for all I know his best friend is moving on and he would have the opportunity to go wherever he wants to a contender and get the minutes. The portal makes this process easier than ever for players to move around. I don't know why anyone thinks the idea is so outrageous.
It sounds outrageous to me. I would bet a ton of money that Kris plays for Iowa next season.
To bet my life there would have to be a commensurate prize if I win. I don't know what that would be. I would bet 10k right now to anyone foolish enough to take it.
Lets make this fun. I'll make a deal with you. I will bet you $100 that Kris doesn't return next year which is what we both agree is still by far the most likely scenario. You will give me 10-1 odds. If I win, you owe me $1,000. How's that?

You say he's only heading to the NBA, but then can't see how 17mins a game at Iowa wouldn't piss him off?
If his mins don't go up, saying it's impossible seems pretty silly. Not to say it's likely

Well, Covid has taken me down this week so I'm going to have to miss the game. If you follow RU at all, you know that you never, ever know what team is showing up to play.
I have to hope that the good Geo & RHJ show up on Wednesday.

I wear a mask and I still got covid. Irony is, I was likely contagious when I was at the RAC for wrestling on Friday night and MBB on Saturday last weekend. So my covid vax card was useless.
and cloth masks are totally and absolutely useless. it's why hospitals got rid of them decades ago.
