Will sondland plead the 5th?

I almost posted this as a poll.
Here are the options:
1. Lie some more.
2. Say, "I don't recall", 112 times
3. Plead the 5th, which as Donald Trump has said many times, is what guilty people do.
4. Spill the beans in order to avoid going to prison.

I do not think it will be #4. He'd need to get an immunity deal, and there isn't one out there right now. My guess is he makes liberal use of his 5th amendment rights. Down the road he'll be trying to get a deal of some sort. Everyone else is pointing their fingers at Sondland. If he took notes and kept a calendar Trump is screwed.

Nobody knows what he's going to say. The guy's credibility will be attacked by whichever side doesn't like his testimony....and they'll have a point.

This is true, although Democrats will have the advantage of multiple people saying something different than what Sondland will have said, if he sides with protecting Trump. If he does that, I would think impending perjury charges would be incoming for him.

He doesn’t need to lie or be concerned about telling the truth. Trump’s own people, including him, have indicated Trump withheld aid as leverage to get Zelensky to make a public announcement that he was investigating Hunter Biden.

So it’s already been established that Trump was extorting Ukraine for his personal gain with US taxpayer money. But the Senate will not convict. They wouldn’t convict if Trump shot Biden on Fifth Avenue.

Sondland was simply carrying out Trump’s wishes, and the Senate will declare it was all legal, anyway. History will not look kindly upon him, but he’s not going to prison.

Sondland will say he was working based on direct orders from Trump. The right will attack him even though this is supported by numerous fact witnesses.

he just said this. Worked with Giuliani on Trumps order.
All singing against Rudy.
Trump will now trash Sondland and we will hear that he is part of deep state.

HROT lawyers (and want-of-bees)....

I'm pretty certain that if Sondland was on trial and gave sworn testimony, he surrenders his right to later invoke the Fifth. So, question 1....as a witness, Sondland can plead the Fifth selectively...even on matters to which he has already given sworn testimony...is that correct? Question 2...can he assert Fifth Amendment rights if he's charged and brought to trial? Does his sworn testimony in one venue prevent asserting his right to remain silent in another?

His opening statement says no. We are about to get all the details. "Everybody was in the loop." The executive branch will need to go all-in on the "yes, we did what we accused of doing, but the president is in charge of foreign policy, so we can do what we want" tack.

Good lord, Sondland is part of the deep state too? Unbelievable. Friggin Soros has everybody.

Barr going to get involved even more to protect the WH.

Guess, after seeing the Roger Stone verdict after Stone lied, Sondland figured he better cover his ass first.

I bet Trump hardly knows Sondland.;)

FWIW....House is now also looking into the redacted Mueller Report elements that are now disclosable with the evidence presented in Stone's trial - high likelihood they show Trump lied in his written statements. That, alone, is the same crime Clinton was impeached for.

Tack on all the other criming here, and removal from office is a pretty straightforward responsibility for Congress...

What are the odds Sondland "resigns" by the end of the month?

If this keeps getting deeper... Pompeo's ass might be in a sling, too.

We should just start a list to predict if any Trumpster should be spared prison time.

Sondland's story has changed so much I don't know how he can testify without contradicting himself. I also don't know how either side can figure out the truth, and declare victory based on anything he says.

Pretty straight forward. Multiple people sat with him while he called the WH, spoke to Trump directly, and discussed the deal. They heard both sides of the conversation. They - at the time - voiced concerns over what occurred. The phone records can confirm the timing and location of the call. It'll be pretty simple to determine if he tells the truth or not.

Cuz the Clinton Heart Attack Gun has a "Time Machine" attachment, to go back and hand Sondland a bunch of made-up emails, that are consistent with his testimony, Amirite?
