I'd say Iowa has a 7 win ceiling right now. I'd say ISU has a 9 win ceiling.
Absolutly! They are 21 points better than we are right now too.
Their offensive staff is light years ahead of Iowa with a 2nd string QB.
I'm glad we played them when we did. Iowa probably would have lost by 4 TDs to ISU today. This is a really bad team, probably the worst Iowa team since 2012. And it's not like the 2013, 2014, or 2016 teams were all that good, either. Bowl eligible those years, but they got trounced in all of those bowl games. I don't think we'll have to worry about a bowl loss this year. If Iowa finishes 6-6 then maybe they'll get to play a MAC team in a Detroit bowl and pull out a 9-7 victory (we win on a safety because of a high snap by their punter).
So, 6-6. Let's see how Iowa gets there. Road loss to UW, Home loss to OSU, home win against Purdue (probably), home win against Minnesota (almost certainly--Minny is putrid), road loss to Nebraska (???). I don't see Iowa being able to win on the road. They looked atrocious on the road against Michigan State and NW. I swear, NW was trying to lose that game but Iowa would not let them.
No thread on a message board has ever been about "need". And you've over-stated the quantity of ISU threads you're being forced to click on.
All i know is we beat them in the field. You should go to groupon and get some clone tickets. They could use the revenue and i could use the extra seat room in kinnick

By the way. Haven't seen many Nebraska fans and only a few ISU fans rubbing our nose in it. A few of you could learn a thing from it.

Honestly its dumb fans that dont actually represent all of you as Hawkeye fans starting those threads. After meeting my wifes Grandfather who played at Iowa in the late 50's I have met more cool Hawk fans than I ever thought were actually on this Planet and they are probably like you not an idiot fan.

Good grief – statements like this make us sound like the delusional Iowa State fans. In the years that they have managed to beat us head to head, they have pointed to “one game” whenever we debate them on the “better” team to justify bragging rights - even though the remainder of their season after we played was a joke. Now we are doing the same thing?
If you want to stick with this logic, then you will pretty much be admitting that Iowa State has produced teams nearly 50% of the time throughout KF’s tenure that has been better than Iowa simply because of one game. Time to take off the homer glasses and admit they currently have a more innovative coaching staff that has their program moving in the right direction. Here’s to hoping for much success for MC and staff so he is hired by another program soon!

I don't care,we beat them. Actually I'd rather lose to them and win B1G games. However I don't live in Iowa and have to listen to their fans on a daily basis.

This is fair. However, there is still plenty of football to be played.
The reality is that once you get out of the top 15, there is a ton of parity in college football. Isu has finally made it into that conversation for the first time this decade.
Iowa State may have a better record. But there are still a lot of tough games ahead on their schedule, so we might want to pump the brakes on that. I do think they are vastly improved, though, and deserve all the credit in the world for how they're playing.
Keep in mind how hopeless the season looked last year after the Penn State blow out loss. Iowa has a lot of problems on offense right now, but the season is not over. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy with the product on the field, I'm just saying a lot of this talk is premature. Iowa is typically never out of a game under Ferentz. As painfully boring and hard as it is to watch this team, that fact doesn't change.
