Bumping this. I have heard rumblings that ISU has plans in the works to try and beat this wrestling attendance record next year. (Typical little brother)

If Iowa can get close to 50k, it would make it nearly impossible, right?

How funny would it be to surpass Jack Trice's capacity for an Iowa wrestling meet?

Seriously, how could ISU even come close to this? What is their highest attendance each year? Their average. Even with Iowa fans there, there isn't anywhere NEAR the draw. Let them rumble, it ain't happening.

I don't put anything past P.T. Barnum/Pollard in Ames. He would probably try to have the meet end 1 hr before kickoff vs Iowa (in 2 yrs) and your ticket for the FB game gets you into the wrestling.
Doubtful that a double event could be pulled off in that manner. I think there are NCAA guidelines about how long a facility has to be available prior to an event. For Saturday, the wrestling stuff all has to be out and field ready for football by 3:00 so that is a 6 hour gap between end of wrestling meet and start of FB. Not sure if this time is for TV or NCAA but makes sense for walkthrough or any pregame activities. Besides, Pollard is so greedy, he would lose too much money for this combined event so he would have to charge Iowa fans $150 for that ticket.

I have not heard these rumblings or anything close to them. Plus, I cannot imagine anybody seriously suggesting it.

I predict that the number of fans in attendance at the end of the wrestling match exceeds the attendance at Trice at the end of that game.
