Will We See The Fran Fade This Season?

The Fran Fade is like taxes in that seems like a yearly occurrence at some point. Will we see it this year?

I would like to have the OP define EXACTLY what this "Fran Fade" is? Is that a certain number of losses at a specific time of year? Please tell us exactly what that is.....is it 3 losses in the last 5 games? Is it going .500 in the last 10 games?

The problem is if you don't define clear parameters then you just create an arguement of opinions. IF the intent of this question is to just give people something to bitch about (the negative nellies) then no definition is required.......if there is a definition of what a "fade" really is....then we should be able to put it out there and make a decision based on facts and parameters.

I would say it would be losing enough games to get to 10+ losses.

If Fran forces the JBO, Connor lineup all year instead of a steady increase in Tousaint and Murray minutes as the year goes on then a fade is possible.

If it happens it will be entirely Fran's fault because the talent on this team makes it avoidable if utilized correctly.

This is a tough, tough league. The best conference by far in the nation. If you thought Iowa, or anybody else was going to waltz through it, you need help. This team could lose 5-8 games and still be good enough to win the national championship if things fall right. Sit back, enjoy the ride. You will be a happier person.

I think tonight is a must win if the Hawks want to have any hope of contending for the conference title.

All the home games are must-win if we want the regular season title. Even if you go 10-0 at home, you still have to win 5 or 6 on the road. Quick, find the 6 road games of the last 9 where you'd feel comfortable penciling in a W.

Unfortunately they started out so HIGH in the rankings that a fade could be more like a 'crash and burn'. I still think they are top 3rd in the conference even at the end of the season.

Without fans and the home court advantage it will be easier to lose at home and win on the road. There will be an advantage playing in your own building but nothing like having fans there. It's going to be interesting

Damn, solid prediction. I'm not sure Connor should even be playing at this point now that I've seen some of the talent we have on the bench. Yet he got 30 minutes last night. Yikes.

Yeah but he can pass it into the post like only a handful of guys in the nation!

Yeah, if we're being honest he really is the 11th best player on this team, and thats assuming he's better than Kris Murray which I actually doubt.

When Fran kept putting Connor back in when he was going offense-defense subs in the last minute it hit me. Fran isn't connected to reality when it comes to his son.

Right and he's like a "coach on the floor". That seems to be working out so well for us lately. We've won 1 out of the last 4 games, and the game we won, he played limited minutes. It's not rocket science. Unless you are blinded by the love of your kid I guess.

If we had an assistant who had any balls at all, he would sit Fran down, show him some disturbing trends about when Connor is in the game, and show him some film. If it were any other player he would be buried deep in the rotation. But he's the coach and he's going to play his kid. No matter how many games we lose because of it apparently.

I think its doubly hard because Connor did step up and play the 4 last year when there was no other options.

But now its just getting weird.

How do you leave Perkins on the bench with what he's shown in favor of what Connor is doing?

Maybe Fran Fade is over and 1st time ever it is Fran resurrection. Schedule is very tough, but if they close out hot, they got a chance to salvage season. B1G title chances are dead though.
