IF its what is going to be used in the NCAAs in March, then yes. Absolutely they should switch to that ball.Noticed this is what was used last night. Still didn't shoot all that well from beyond the arc, particularly Sandfort.
Should Iowa start using those instead? The tournament will feature them again. Thoughts?
But, then with the Wilson, we would shoot poorly all the time.
So, the B1G doesn't have a standard ball? It's always been a team choice...

Crazy ....
I'm not even sure the rims are the same height at the Kohl Center.Maybe we could also get standardized torque values for the rims also,.. Badgers have never understood how to properly use a wrench at the Kohl Center.
Have to put Ollie on Strap's back to measure it.I'm not even sure the rims are the same height at the Kohl Center.
Iowa has a contract with Nike so they will use the Nike ball. They do have other brands to use to practice with if a team they are playing uses a different ball.Noticed this is what was used last night. Still didn't shoot all that well from beyond the arc, particularly Sandfort.

I’m not sure Wisconsin even uses basketballs. Orange painted rocks
Well played Eppy. That made me laugh. We could stop the game and switch balls every possession like football
They are not going to do that. Too much money the schools get from having their own deals. It really is something the NCAA should mandate but alas we are all pawns in the big shoe world.
Some play with NIKE, some addidas, some UA, etc...
The EVO is very grippy
I like the Wilson Evolution ball but the EVO is different.I will admit, I thought all of the complaining about the ball Iowa did last year in the tournament was ridiculous.
But the gym I play at bought a whole bunch of them and man they take some getting used to.

Love the Wilson Evolution. Probably my favorite ball of all time. That EVO, like you said, is so grippy it's unreal. Even the spin off the backboard on a layup or jumper is weird. I like it because I shoot that Tim Duncan shot off the glass and the ball just dies and drops through. But again it takes a while to get used to it.

You can tell with how it skips off the rim at times. Don’t like itThe EVO is very grippy
Sounds like a heavier ball.
I thought the Wilson ball was big in last year’s tournament with IA using Spaulding in Big 10 Tourney and of course Nike @ Home. Not heavier, but the grip is almost sticky, so when it hits the rim or the backboard it really spins hard.
MoneyIt's a mystery to me why the NCAA doesn't have one single, standard ball that all teams use for all games, including the postseason. That way everyone would be used to the ball.
Call me crazy.
I could be wrong but I thought it was announced before the season and every team had the option to use it, not many did and thus all the hubbub come tourney time. They are not going to do that. Too much money the schools get from having their own deals.
For football games, teams are allowed to use their own footballs. They will switch them out when possessions switch.
What I did disagree with was the NCAA rolling out a brand new ball just for the tournament last year. Dumb.

Hell for that matter, the whole B1G should.
So, the B1G doesn't have a standard ball?

I thought we'd learn from last year after half the field was complaining of the new ball. Then Iowa shoots poor & drops Richmond game. The game last night was played with a Wilson ball. Pretty smart of Northwestern to be using a Wilson ball for all of their home games. They will be fully used to it once the NCAA Tournament begins. Under Armour is their uniform supplier.
Iowa, of course, was just 3-24 (13%) from three.

Neither do other leagues. Generally teams use the ball of their uni contract if they have one. UA, Nike etc...So, the B1G doesn't have a standard ball?
Crazy ....
Lol what ball are they playing with decides where you put your moneyThere’s an interesting gambling angle here.
