Wisc. at Iowa Line as of 4:30 PM Sat. Hawks -2.5 o/u 40.5

Wiscy QB is not good. At all. If we can stop the run, and force him to pass, he will turn it over. I certainly don't expect an easy win ( never do with us) but again we beat them last year in Madison w/Deacon Hill at QB, possibly the worst QB to ever see the field at Iowa. We win this game and we cover.

I think I'm with you on this. I just think this matchup looks a lot more like the Northwestern game than the OSU game. I'm also relatively confident that what we saw against MSU was a defensive anomaly that won't be repeated this year. Missing Castro and Lee in that game was huge. Assuming we aren't missing any key players on Saturday, I think the defense will be fine.

We do? Please give me 3-4 examples.
I'll give you 5 just from this season:
Iowa State's Jaylin Noel; 5 catches, 133 yards, 1 TD
Troy's Devonte Ross; 5-142-2
Minnesota's Daniel Jackson; 9-112-0
MSU's Nick Marsh; 8-113-0
MSU's Montorie Foster; 5-100-1

I think his point was being beat over the top for big plays. The game against ISU we got beat deep once, and the Troy game he beat us deep twice, plus the punt return, that was a bad game. A guy catching 9 passes for around 100 yds is going to happen, and falls more into an acceptable range. The MSU was ot good either but were without basically both starting DB's on that side. Conversely we held Washigton pretty well in check...

While this season has certainly had some odd results our secondary has been amongst the best in the country year after year. Cmon dude.

You asked for examples and I provided them. Then you say there’s been odd results.
It’s pretty obvious they aren’t what they have been in the past. Overall a solid unit but when up against athletic receivers they get exposed.
We’ve always been better up front than on the back end but that’s maybe just my opinion.

Based upon how many back end guys we’ve put in the pros I’d disagree. We put safeties in the pros every single year.

I said unit, you're singling out guys. Did we have a good offensive line when Linderbaum was by far the best center in the country? Nope.
We WERE discussing 'the secondary', not 'guys who make up the secondary'. If you're going to change the parameters of the discussion, then I'll change my points.

So hold on here. Guys who make up the secondary are not the secondary? Just since 17 we've had 7 guys from the secondary that are currently still playing. Merriweather, DeJean, Belton, and Moss all played together at some point. That's a crazy good secondary.
