Wisconsin Offers Will Honas...

Who, in your opinion, would have been a better hire for Nebraska to make?

Lurking on your board, but I agree with the PEDs comment. Something fishy there.
Fishy indeed: rowers have been into it for along time; those substances surround the entire campus, mainly Mendota, Monona and Wingra. Don't bother calling Jim Delany, he has been into it up to his knees.

Bielema was successful at Arkansas with that approach?

Been discussed a lot. Bielema went to the SEC with Arkansas and got away from the Wisconsin system there because what the SEC is about is speed and athleticism. Proved that was not the league for him to coach in because that is not how he won at Wisky.

Bielema inherited a great program and got lucky with some key transfers at WISCONSIN.Barry dropped the Ball when he hired G.Anderson.

Dropped the ball? They went 9-4 and 10-3 under Anderson. It’s not the head coaches he brings in as much as it is himself that keeps Wisconsin going.

GA was not a good choice. BA discovered it it time but it has taken a few years to undue the the damage done to the offensive line.

ThankGod Anderson left on his own.In 2015 there were no running backs and 4 frosh on the offensive line.Clement was injured that yr.

Sure. He’s a proven winner in the Big 10 west. He understands the value of running the ball and stopping the run in this conference, especially in November when it’s 20 and the wind is blowing 30 mph. Understanding and executing that are 2 different things, he executed. He understands the type of players to recruit and what wins in this conference. He’s a good recruiter himself. His players graduate.

I think there is some argument for him, but there is also an argument that he is a product of the Wisconsin/Barry Alvarez system. He was very successful in his system, but it didn't translate with his move. Beleima didn't build the system at Wisconsin, he worked within it. There is no culture at Nebraska right now that makes me think he would produce anything other than what he did at Arkansas.

We can agree to disagree. I think the secret sauce in Wisconsin is still in Wisconsin, and Beleima was a product of that given his lack of success once moving on and Wisconsin's continued success without him.

EDIT - I didn't read the other responses below yours before responding. What I said is a repeat of a number of other posters' comments.
