Wisky Beats #1 Overall Seed Nova 65-62! They go from 57-50 DOWN to UP 59-58 with 2:26 to go!

Hayes with the reverse layup to give Wiscy 2 point lead and 11 seconds to go. Does Nova go for the 3 and the win?

They had that bad stretch. Aside from that, I always liked that move that Hayes does when he goes up under the basket. You know, the one where he goes up and sticks his left elbow up into the defender's throat. LOL. Classic.

LOL! Punch to the throat? Illegal. Elbow to the throat? Legal.

A flagrant 1 personal foul is a personal foul that
is deemed excessive in nature and/or unnecessary, but is not based solely
on the severity of the act. Examples include, but are not limited to:
1. Causing excessive contact with an opponent;
2. Contact that is not a legitimate attempt to play the ball or player,
specifically designed to stop or keep the clock from starting;
3. Pushing or holding a player from behind to prevent a score;
4. Fouling a player clearly away from the ball who is not directly
involved with the play, specifically designed to stop or keep the clock
from starting; and
5. Contact with a player making a throw-in.
6. Illegal contact caused by swinging of an elbow that is deemed
excessive or unnecessary but does not rise to the level of a flagrant 2
personal foul (pg. 47)

Watch the replay. I don't see a grab. Not even much of a foul.

Because Wisconsin is our rival. Why would anyone want Wisconsin to win if you are an Iowa fan. This conference loyalty thing is beyond overrated, imo. Especially in basketball.

ACC, ten teams invited? Big Ten, seven? We want a strong conference and a strong reputation.

We already beat them, so we look better.

It's not loyalty that makes me cheer for other teams in the conference. When the B1G has a perception of being a good conference, recruits more likely to want to play in this league. Yes, we compete with Wisconsin for recruits, but don't you want the entire league to play at a high level? Do you think it's a coincidence that the SEC keeps getting more than an equal share of talent in football? National perception and media buzz helped make that happen, my friend.
