Wisky vs Mich Tonight

Michigan impressing me a lot. We are going to struggle with them. Cannot stand Wisky, think we can play with them
Agree. Michigan has multiple skilled offensive players and can not stand Wisky either.

Iowa players not named Garza will have to step up and play at least their average games for iowa to compete (Garza will have his usual game’) and if they melt down, Iowa will lose, so as goes Wieskamp, JoBo and to a lesser degree CJF and ConMac, goes the game.

SO FAR.... best all around team in the BT. More athletic with their defense. Very active with their hands and physical. Really good offense. They are tough. Big they finish this game like they started they are 3rd best in the country...maybe 2. Season is fluid though....many changes can take place. Coach has them believing it starts with all of them on the defensive side of the floor.

Michigan might be top 4 team in USA. Wagner was playing well both offensively and defensively and Dickinson it too tall/skilled for Wisconsin Bigs. Wisconsin is outclassed They are too slow to keep up with Michigan drivers and getting a lot of their shots swatted. I saw two Wisconsin flops in 1st half, refs didn't give wisconsin the call.

I think Iowa can beat Michigan, but game being at Michigan, they are going to feel at home and probably shoot well. Michigan looks like they have inside track for B1G title unless Iowa improves

Woah this is fun to watch .. its beyond a game and i am just going to try and enjoy watching wisconsins defense get dominated

I think Garza has a tough time with Dickinson. The kids 7-1 with 6 foot arms. Michigan is really quick and hands are always moving. Defense is really good. Rebound well. Either they’re playing out of their ass or they’re easily the best team in the B1G

Iowa pissed away the Minnesota game. They beat themselves (choked).

We've got one "real" loss, and that's to #1 Gonzaga.

We'll give Michigan all they can handle, and maybe then some.

Yeah there are no passing lanes for wisconsin. Michigan defenders always seem to be disrupting the ball. Wisconsins offense is a lot slower paced than iowas so i am not as concerned. But michigan has certainly made themselves the team to beat. They might jump to #3 next week in rankings

The Key for us to beat Michigan is we have to get Dickinson into would trouble early. Once he goes out they become much more one dimensional and easier to defend. We are going to have to keep him from getting deep post ups or Garza and Nunge will be in trouble. I still think Iowa gets around 70 points but we are going to have to play defense and keep their shooters from getting hot.

Dickinson is very long and skilled...he is slow...Garza can beat him up the court and get position. Hopefully Garza can have game closer to his 2nd time vs Minnesota's Robbins 7ft center. Wisconsin's bigs had some success early keeping Dickinson further away from the basket but he got position in 2nd half and he is automatic knocking down shots in side the paint with 72% shooting percentage.

I don't think the starting lineup with Connor at the PF matched vs Wagner is going to work. The zone may work better than Wisconsin's man defense which got burned on dribble drive by quicker Michigan players. Nunge at the PF for Iowa makes opponent scoring inside more difficult but give up the 3. If Michigan shoots 40% from 3 vs Iowa, it will be tough game to win.

Michigan needs to lose some road games for Iowa to have a chance at B1G title. I don't like Wisconsin, but seeing them get blown out and outclassed makes me thing Michigan is the real deal.

um is the best team in the B1G. Clearly in the W-L standings. Even more so in what we're seeing on the court of late.

Michigan will
Somehow piss down their leg.. there’s a lot of Season left and many games to be played .. however they looked dominant tonight but have a feeling one loss will send them reeling they’re not going undefeated that’s for sure

Wish I had been home to see Wisconsin get beat like a rented mule. Must have been glorious. :)

But on the other hand, Michigan absolutely aced its first real test on its B1G schedule. Damn. 😒

Michigan has played 9 of 11 games at home. One of the two road wins at nebby. They have a roster of 9 seniors or grad transfers. Wow. They start 3 of that group with a soph Wagner and freshman Dickinson. Carry on.

Hope you are right but very unlikely. Michigan is so much quicker and more physical than the Hawks and their defense reminds me of Virginia a few years back when teams including Iowa were struggling to score 40.

Michigan is Ivan Drago... punchin people in the nose and killin them
you're kiddin yourself if you think anybody can compete against these guys

Michigan would struggle to keep up scoring with Gonzaga.

UM will have their hands full with Iowa and Illinois.

I agree with most everything of what you saying, Michigan at home can play really well, Defense, rebounding, speed.

I do believe Dickerson will be the one with the tough time with with Garza‘s repertoire, Garza will win that.

my concern is what Wieskamp and the supporting cast steps up, if they step up, Iowa can shoot them into submission, strangely, I think jobo and his new 5th yr sr swag, will carry the shooting...

Well in terms on Beauty Pagaent Polls maybe...

Kenpom
#34 Minnesota
#57 jNWN

recent beatings at home versus these 2 teams are not quite as impressive looking now ...

still, beating quadrant 2 teams like these guys at home is what good teams are supposed to do...

before tonight, Michigan’s best win was versus the Terps on the road, by 7.....nice, but not really the marquee win the selection committee points to for a #1 seed...

They are playing fantastic basketball right now, no other way to put it. Wisconsin is good, and they just took them apart. They won't play that well every night. If they do, they won't lose, period.

My own opinion is that for Iowa to win/be close Garza will have to move around, run a lot of pick and pop and hit some outside shots. Have to make the big man move and defend in and out, try to get him in foul trouble. Michigan's defense is really good, I didn't realize they were leading the conference in blocked shots. After tonight I see why. Wagner is tall and active, and the rest of their team is active and long. It appears that Howard can recruit and coach, which is a lethal combination.

It's a long season, and the way teams look one game doesn't mean they will play that way the entire season. But Michigan is flat out good.

small point about that game is Michigan was up 19 with about 5 minutes to go despite Maryland having their hottest shooting game in years (9/11 on 3s in 1st half and 60% for the game). Maryland made the final score a bit more respectable scoring against the walkons eventually losing by 11

Michigan has had quite a few games end up much closer than they were. The end of bench lineup has gotten a lot of PT and let scores get 10-15 points closer at the end more than a few times.

Wisconsin is overrated.

They are the 5th or 6th best team in the conference in my opinion.

Trice is good but he's their only guy that can create a shot for himself or others.

Wisconsin, had quite a few wide open looks from 3 during that long scoring run by UM and couldn't hit any of them, specifically Ruevers.

If those shots drop its a different game.
