Stand your ground behind your closed door. This is an atrocity. The victim was unarmed as well and had 2 children with her when shot. Federal prosecutors need to intervene but they are stretched thin on the endless Trump and supporters cases.

Being at the door and breaking in are pretty far apart. If this woman was simply trying to talk and not aggressive I think the home owner should/will get charged
It's irresponsible to frame this stuff as racial just because there was a black woman and a white woman. You're a disservice to actual victims of crimes where race is meaningful.

From the sheriff's office. Sounds like they're on top of it; trying to make sure there wasn't some sort of stand your ground situation and needing to interview children. Sounds like the police had been called in over conflict between these two women a number of times already.

With that said, a mother of four, who has feuded long enough with a neighbor to have the police called 6 to 8 times, no matter how angry she was, should have understood banging on the neighborhood enemy's door after dark or even appearing threatening was a terrible decision. Everyone who owns property in Florida knows/understands castle doctrine and will shoot, then claim they were threatened.
People have to use common sense in this day and time, there are a number of people with guns who will kill for a variety of reasons

No but the door exists. If there was damage to the door that was consistent with the door being breached and consequently putting the person inside the home in danger, then Sheriff Billy Bob would have mentioned it. He would also have large photos of the door on cardboard on an easel for all to see. That’s Grady Judd Florida Sheriff Media Theatrics 101.

The police report said racial abuse was being used by the white lady. Definitely points toward a factor of intent and motive. 100% relevant to the story.
Nothing I read included that information. In general we've seen tons of assumed racial intent without vetting in media in recent years.
I was thinking more of wiring my house like the Vietnam Vet guy in Season 3 of True Detective. When the rednecks kicked his door in, it blew their legs off.
