I don’t know anything for certain, but I think there’s a couple middleweight seniors on the mens team that would make excellent assistants. This is fantastic what a great hire , she is the only woman with the credentials for the job outside of the Japanese coaches. I cannot wait to see who her assistance will be
Exactly what I was thinking. I bet that’s the plan.Awesome news. I’m excited to see the women’s program take shape. I wonder if they will introduce her tomorrow night? Would be cool to give her a big welcome at the first home duel.
Well let's not shoot her on her first day!Awesome news. I’m excited to see the women’s program take shape. I wonder if they will introduce her tomorrow night? Would be cool to give her a big welcome at the first home duel.
Agreed! Not a surprise it was Chun. She's been around for quite some time and checks a lot of boxes. Good for her.Well let's not shoot her on her first day!
Related question but what is a reasonable expectation for the dual schedule? How many opponents could we face? I assume there is no national championship yet?Someone refresh my memory. What’s the first season for the women? 22-23 or further down the road?
Somewhere out there Jason Bryant has a good explanation. I believe there is a single national championship (all programs) but not one for each division. The latter will happen after there’s a certain number of programs per division.Related question but what is a reasonable expectation for the dual schedule? How many opponents could we face? They are the only Power 5 currently. I'm sure others are working on it behind the scenes, but I doubt that's a huge list at the moment.Somewhere out there Jason Bryant has a good explanation. Quick glance- Iowa would be the only Power 5 or Group of 5 school. Not sure if this list is current.
I believe 23-24 is what they initially stated.Someone refresh my memory. What’s the first season for the women? 22-23 or further down the road?
That is correct, per HawkCentral. Next up Assistant's and recruiting.I believe 23-24 is what they initially stated.
Something tells me she isn't afraid of the cool weather. She is bringing the heat with her! That is correct, per HawkCentral. Next up Assistant's and recruiting.
Miss Chun is 40 years old. She is a tiny little thing, 4'11". Originally from Hawaii, hope they get her some warm Hawkeye gear! 🙂
Some of the best people applied. And I’m really glad CC was chosen.I suppose it remains private/confidential, but do we know who else applied? Just curious.
aren’t you a special kind of stupid?Big time get. Plus she’s freaking gorgeous. Great start.
Curiosity, does anyone know the financial payout (for wrestlers, et. al.) on these NIL marketing contracts/business arrangements. Recently purchased some University of Iowa athletic gear/items, seems a significant price rise. Just inflation, Covid, or other?
Inside information, or prediction? These kids (Blades) would be a great recruits. Would create immediate fan excitement for the program. Excited about the progress/future of this program. Go Hawks vs Princeton tonight.Blades sisters committment must be days away
No info. just making a joke - but with the Izzy connection I feel like it should be a no brainer. Hopefully.Inside information, or prediction? These kids (Blades) would be a great recruits. I need pics of receipts and maybe photo of fan and coach C in said restaurant, notarized, please, before I’m buying into this one, Chief…Coach Chun spoke to Iowa's love of wrestling. Said back in 2012, she was having breakfast the day after making the team and a young guy congratulated her, talked about her match, and then ended up paying for her meal. Word is, he went on to become our dorm maintenance guy who closed the deal on Assad.
Doesn’t give a shit, but has to make this known in every single women’s wrestling thread on the message board. You know what I do when I see a thread on a message board I don’t care about? I don’t even click to read it, let alone make a post about it.Just a whole bunch of who gives a shit
