Woodburys Dunk

That would be great to see him make one of those. I don't recall him ever attempting one. Has that ever happened? Maybe Fran just doesn't want to go there.

Last year at the end of the season there was a poster on here who wanted to Woody to take threes because "Frank Kaminsky does and he is 7 feet tall too, and Woody has a good stroke from 15 feet, so he should shoot threes"

yep the posters who called Woody a bust...they were so wrong.....wrong..wrong..wrong :p

He is an absolute offensive bust. But he does lots of things well on the court regarding hustle, defense, and rebounding. Like others have said he's a real team player which makes a big difference regarding team chemistry. I'm very thankful we have Woody as a Hawkeye, and he's having a terrific senior season.

I don't know how you can be a bust when you didn't come in with great offensive skills in the first place...seems a lot of people didn't read, listen or believe Kakert's evaluation 4 years ago. Yet he is better offensively than what he was ...after 4 years he should be. Obviously he isn't the first choice or even 2nd on the offense as far as scoring.

I'll take the high road on this one...this thread is giving Woody some deserved praise, and I'm glad he's a hawk. Anything I would say about his lack of offensive skill after 4 years at Iowa doesn't have anything to do with whether or not I heard anyone's evaluation of his high school skills.

I get that ... and yes this thread was giving deserved praise.

In the spirit of smiley faces and just a couple of fellas BS'ing, I'm absolutely certain that Roy Williams has many sleepless nights thinking about the "one that got away"... :p

On one hand a great play by Woody, but from an athletic ability perspective, it was pretty weak. Had to watch his dribble all the way, was two steps I front of everyone when he started and had to use all his jumping ability and small hands to do two hand dunk. White or uthoff would have put that down with one hand starting about two feet above the rim. Guess that makes it more special given the skill set is not dunking

I was laughing at how he had his head down watching the dribble the whole way -- but it was a good finish with a guy on him.

apparently you didn't know much of his skillset when he came in and you had unrealistic expectations. Adam was never expected to be a scorer. He plays great Defense, passes well, rebounds, and runs the floor much better than typical 7'1" center. He can hedge screens almost perfectly with his lateral movement. He shoots just under 55% from the field and is hitting 80% from the line. I'd take a player like AW every year. Kid will be missed greatly in the middle of our D next year.
