The math is off--Iowa has lost five of the last six, not four--but other than that, it's an honest if brutal assessment. I don't think Iowa has earned a spot either.
Except compared to other selections--Oklahoma (7-11 in the Big 12)--for example, and there are plenty of others who don't have any better resumes than Iowa, if as good.
BTW: Iowa State lost 6 of 8 to close the regular season, including several blowouts and losses at home. Then, suddenly, they win the Big 12 Tourney title and they're awesome. They stand at 23-11. But because they won the tourney, all those losses seem to have evaporated.
Iowa, on the other hand, stands at 22-11, including having handed #2 national seed Michigan its largest loss of the season. Oh, and they did beat Iowa State, but nobody cares. Instead, those 11 losses loom large in everyone's consciousness. All Iowa can do about it is win.

Yeah, that's why I much prefer to follow Houyhnhnm Sports. They're especially good at evaluating horse racing.

Good point. This team is Twitter tough. If their feelings have been hurt because fans question their heart then come out Friday with a chip on each shoulder and play with some fire. If they don't they will get taken to the wood shed and be the team that should have gone to the NIT. If that doesn't motivate them I don't know what will.
Iowa is right where they should be. Iowa deserved to be in the tournament. But the way they played the last month was just bad. People weren't really sold on Iowa to begin with, and when Iowa not only loses but gets beat by double digits by Wisconsin, OSU, Rutgers just reinforces perceptions.
