WRs last night

I know many on here hate all things Iowa football at the moment but did you all feel the wideouts played pretty well last night?

Good catches for Brandon Smith. ISM got open and made some good reads to change routes when Stanley scrambled. Easley did fine as well.

Is Iowa starting to progress in this department?

Wisky was playing two young CBs last night. Iowa’s WR did make some plays, but damn how do we not take more vertical shots downfield? I mean they had 8 guys in the box most of the night. Try a deep shot at least once.

He is a TE! Where were our WRs?? If we are relying on our TE that much, we’re gonna get beat a few more times. Hockensen has the one long catch on a scramble play.

Well no, but we have to get some sort of production out of them to stretch a defense. Otherwise we’re gonna see a lot of 8 guys in the box. I mean Wisky has single deep coverage, so basically it was man up. These were some raw corners from Wisky, we will see better CBs from other teams.

Why not try a jump ball to Fant in the end zone on that first drive? He’s 6-7 and Wisky CB was like 5-10??

IMO we have amazing TE’s and need to use both of them like a rented mule!!!!! 3rd n 4 how bout a curl pattern!!!!!!!!!! Fant and Hochenson are really good!

Oooooooh. I was thinking the same thing..... leave Hock at TE and move Fant to WR. DEADLY! Even if just a few times a game...

To be fair, I was begging for a ISM double move with a single safety deep.

Did you miss the two shots to Hockenson, of the touchdown to Fant. There is plenty to complain about, but come on you can’t ignore things that went well.

We we're the better team for the first 55 min. If not for the 3 turn overs we win the game going away IMO....

There was a chart on here with odds of a reception per TE and WR. Odds were unbelievable for Hock - not so good for Smiths

i thought offense and defense were fine in this game.

some people are bashing the defense but Wisky was held to 14 point thru 59 minutes. think about that for a second.

special teams let the team down in this game.

* you can't turn the ball over at your own 10.

* your defense just got off the field and you fumble the punt, forcing your D back on the field, giving Wisky another opportunity to score and keeping Iowa's offense on the sideline.

Just can't have these mistakes and expect to win big games. Especially when Wisky had 0 turnovers. Heck, what's frustrating is that we still came close to winning the game even with these mistakes.

Beyer and Groeneweg are going to have a hard time forgetting this game.

If we finish one game behind Wisky, which is likely? There are going to be a lot of Iowa players and Iowa fans thinking it should be Iowa in the B1G Championship game. And if that is the case, it will be hard to watch Wisky playing on Dec 1 in Indy.

Why did he get that average because Stanley had to escape pressure and threw a wounded duck downfield. That was 45-50yds. The other play was a 10yd route that Hockensen ran for another 30. So the averages are a bit skewed.

Where were our WRs? I hope we can land some serious talent at that position. Watching NAIA and former walk ons is killing us right now.
