Yesterday, I drove through Nebraska

I have a business associate that lives in grand island. He went to Indiana about a week ago - and he kept talking in amazement about the fact that he had never seen so many trees ! OMFG
A man from the home of Arbor Day?!?! Surely you jest.

Nebraska is very boring when driving through on I-80...but if you ever have a chance to see the very northern tier of Nebraska it is really quite beautiful up there.
Scottsbluff area is pretty cool too. Ruts still visible from the Oregon Trail.

Almost the entire length of I-80 in Nebraska was built along the Platte River valley (flood plain is more like it), because it's flat. I-29 was is built on the Missouri flood plain, because it's flat. Driving across Nebraska is boring, driving across Iowa is boring, driving across almost any midwestern or plains state is boring. If Iowa had an interstate that went through NE Iowa, people would be dumbfounded. Just as if Nebraska had one that simply went 30 miles north of it's present location, people would be dumbfounded.
