Michigan finished dead last in the league last year. They're 5x the basketball program Iowa is. It happens.

The only time the terms "Iowa" and "Duke" should appear in the same sentence, at least concerning basketball:

Iowa had to duke it out with Northwestern to see who the crappier program is.

It's possible, perhaps even likely, that Iowa takes men's hoops less seriously than any other power conference program. Summit league-level NIL funds is pretty telling.
