... You can actually hear the cheerleaders ... AND ... understand what they are saying.

For the record, UConn has much better cheers than Marshall ...

Some people, like me, watch them just long enough to see how few people are there, and then do something meaningful, like watch "Bewitched" reruns.

Happy New Year to all.............

Any of you pricks have a problem with that? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Someone cares enough to watch the games then complain about the attendance.

Exactly, the person complaining about bowls they don't care about are the ones wound too tight.

It's football the day after Christmas, enjoy it. I wish they had these in April too.

On a side note, the pinstripe is decently filled... I would venture to guess that it is Yankee stadium and going to nyc.... And Indiana is hankering for a bowl win too. Need to make venues and locations appealing. Sun bowl just proved weather ain't gonna be the good enough reason to go places for bowls... Just my 2 cents

Unfunny, unoriginal and dumb joke.

I just read the early bowl tv ratings: 0.5 ratings and below. Good job, ESPN. You've taken what was a special time of year and you're devaluing your product to a joke. F U, greedy jerkwads.

Probably higher than Sportscenter, World Series of poker and much of their other programs. Probably higher than many of their NCAA basketball and NBA game ratings too.

He didn't complain about bowls he doesn't care about. Please see thread title for an explanation.

This, and it's on top of the good bowls, it isn't lowering all bowls.

Seriously. Lots of football to watch today and some of it was pretty good. I had a good day.

I am afraid they are gonna make all of them, even the rose, a bottom tier and make only the nc playoff worth a darn, and make every other bowl and tradition out to be garbage. maybe they have already done this.

Let me guess, you are a special snow flake who thinks "bowls were created as a reward for a good season!"

It has always been about money:

Originally titled the "Tournament East–West football game",[5] the first Rose Bowl was played on January 1, 1902, starting the tradition of New Year's Day bowl games. The football game was added in 1902 to help fund the cost of the Rose Parade.[6]

Since I'm in FL, I enjoy the bowl games. Try to attend two or three each year. No one is required to go or watch on t.v. I truly enjoy the college game more so than NFL.

Not bragging or trying to belittle anyone. I understand all opinions expressed. I really really enjoy a day of tailgating, chatting with fans, and watching college players give it their best. Retired and prefer attending the games, but do catch a few on TV.

The first bowl my family attended was Rose Bowl 1-1-1966. Since then, Orange, Outback, Cap 1, Holiday, Fiesta, last year Jacksonville, and St Pete yesterday. While living in AZ, hit several bowl games and loved it.

We always buy tickets from fans at the location. Almost always, for much less than ticket price asked. Last year at Outback vs LSU, a Hawk family handed us two tickets and we enjoyed sitting with them. A rainy day, but wanted to cheer the Hawks on anyway. Still fun day.

Yesterday, at the S Pete venue, we talked to several UConn fans and a nice couple from WV regarding Marshall and their trip to FL. Loved it. For us, GREAT FUN. Outback again coming up and then home to catch Iowa vs. Cardinal on TV. Nebraska certainly set UCLA straight!! Loved it! HUGE games this week.GO HAWKS.. and Happy New Year to all you football fanatics!

But, the games are meaningless! They're weren't enough fans! You must be joking, mistaken or delusional!

Or, perhaps you work for the evil ESPN and you are a plant! That's it, isn't it? That means you are evil too!

WE MUST STAMP OUT UNIMPORTANT BOWL GAMES BEFORE THEY DESTROY US!!!!

Of course it was. No one is arguing it isn't. But if you're daft enough to not notice how bowl games used to have a luster that has been tarnished by ESPN's over-proliferation, I really can't help you.
