When you state that the accused didn’t do the thing being asserted that he did. It kind of I don’t know…undercuts the claim?

I did not know we were using something that would stand up in a court of law. Was that the standard? The relevant post used the base word instigate. Which means to bring about. There is no question that Trumps rhetoric and actions preceding January 6th and his speech that day brought about that riot.
Let’s put this another way. If Trump had rightfully conceded the election. He didn’t lie about it being stolen. He hadn’t made a speech that day asking for his supporters to fight for him. Would there have been a riot? Absolutely not. That’s the definition of instigation.
And only after people close to him insisted he put something out to try and stop the violence. Until then, Trump was watching on TV, hoping to see his minions lynching his enemies and somehow overthrow the government.

Trump's sordid history and present is well documented. Being honest about the new VP candidate is also warranted. If your standard is Trump, you've set a really low bar. Walz's policies and character are both flawed. Character flaws are different than Trump, but still flaws.
