Lazy assholes who leave shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot

Acted like me? I usually bring my cart back into the store as opposed to putting it in the cart area because there are so many different sizes of carts they often don’t fit together well, especially when it’s cold because I don’t want the poor kids doing it to be outside one minute longer than they have to.

Are you bringing yours back into the store? If not, why are you a dick?
No, I bring mine back to the cart return. You know, the place where the store who employs the cart return boy asks me to. I call bullshit that more than half of the time you walk your cart back in, unless you have one of those special carts with the race car driving wheels to amuse toddlers.

JonBenet Ramsey

Absolutely they can skew. But it really does a thorough job making its points, and there are so many people in this pointing out the numerous shoddy, sometimes downright incompetent police work. And the reasons the public was so confused are so common: an investigator who was a genius in his own mind has made his mind up, a journalist was all too willing to print police leaks by this guy to feed the media frenzy, and a lazy national media lapped it up in all its sensationalism. Meanwhile, the boring and old Denver detective, who was doing the boring work of actually getting the little facts right in order to eliminate theories, was getting closer to the truth than anyone. And it doesn’t seem he has a tie to this doc, nor is he interviewed (though I’m not completely done with it).

I think you are talking about the same investigator. Older guy at the time, with a reputation of solving hard cases?

That’s him. He pointed out the taser, snow, and suitcase issues.

A person who refuses to put a cart away is an animal and a savage? They are just assholes. There are millions of them around.

Savage is the joke part. I would say a narcissist who deserves a consequence.

Is it worse than bad behavior in the school drop off line?
Same

Is it worse than bringing too many items to the express checkout? I
No. There is no threat to property damage.

Is it worse than stopping in the middle of the aisle with your massive cart as you look at your shopping list blocking the entire aisle so everybody just has to stand there?
No threat of damage, but the asshole factor is the same.

We are surrounded by assholes all of the time, doing things assholes do.
Yes

This cart thing isn’t any better or worse than any of those behaviors.
So people do assholey things, so commit one more such act, because you only care about yourself.

I would add, what would happen if everyone acted like you? You get to the store on a Saturday at noon after 200 people have shopped, and there are 200 carts in the parking lot scattered around. Opinion change?

Two teams with 5 first downs

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this before. Two BIG teams had 5 first downs each. One was Iowa…..of course they won 13-10. The other was Purdue…they lost 66-0. Here are the Boiler “ incredible “ stats.

Passing 53
Rushing 13
1st downs 5
3rd down efficiency 0/11
Punts 9
Interceptions 2
Fumbles lost 3

Now, I truly understand when Kirk says
“That’s football.”

Why is Nebber such a lil bro to Iowa?? Why can’t they compete at our level?

The more I think about the game, the more Nebber’s inability to be relevant on even a bottom 3rd B1G level is starting to bother me.

I mean, what the hell is even going on these last 15 years with those bottom 6 B1G teams.

They have their own world going on down there.
Attention to detail and a culture that makes 105% effort, both physical and mental, are what separate these teams many times.

Maryland and Nebby are two of the most undisciplined and error prone teams out there, a lot of penalties especially at crucial times are killers and turnovers are killers. They have underwhelming teams due to their coaching and mentality

Not being in the right position and working in the team concept can be a killer/losing proposition.

And then there is effort on every play like hustling to the ball, helping to finish tackles, holding blocks an extra second that make all the difference. Coaches say games turn on maybe 6-8 plays so if your players are taking time off you may lose all those big plays.

Many times the hawks do not have the best collection of athletes on the field but they usually have supreme effort both physically and mentally that other teams do not.

I mean, is it? There is no fine. Typically there is a cart return 100 feet away max. It a decision you make that you can just leave something borrowed wherever you want, blocking other people from parking and possibly having it blow into another car scratching paint. Would your opinion change if there was a sign by the carts saying you are required to return your cart? Or if it was your paint scratched? Or do think every store should have cart boys like ball boys in tennis, sprinting out to return your cart as you put the last bag into your cart? Would you be willing to pay for the extra labor built into the prices I’d the store?

How's Keegan Doing?

I really thought Keegan would thrive this year. Although adding DeRozan knocked him down a peg on the offensive totem pole. The regression on his 3 point shot is baffling. From setting the 3 point rookie record two years ago to shooting <30%. Have to think he’s having confidence issues at this point that aren’t helping. He needs to keep shooting, and hopefully he’ll string a few games together where he shoots well because right now, he’s struggling shooting in every single game.

When did you realize your kid was/wasn't game for extra competitive sports?

There was nothing in between for a kid to have a casual interest in sports. You were either 100% serious, or there was really no place for you, so I feel bad about my younger son's experience.

That’s the problem with sports in larger communities IMO. I’ve coached Little League for years because I want there to be leagues for kids who care but don’t want play 50 games a year.

My two older kids do some level of club soccer, baseball, basketball, football. My 7 year old does some basic stuff but you can tell already he really doesn’t care. He does Karate and stuff like that.

Totally ludicrous but it’s definitely a take.
