Anyone catch that UCONN/ND game…

I’d like to know who guarded Miles and Hidalgo they had a combined 45 points. I’m being petty here I know, but PB isn’t in the same stratosphere as CC. I suppose she likely is a better defender, but she’s not a lock down defender. For instance (poor comparison overall I know) but she doesn’t defend like Kylie Feurbach. I don’t think she even defends like Lucy.

She doesn’t pass like CC, she doesn’t even rebound like CC. She’s a more efficient shooter, maybe even a much more efficient shooter, but she never forces shots. And she really only shoots open 3s (0-4 tonight)

I doubt her effective FG% or true shooting % is higher than CC ( heavily weighted towards 3s) and she honestly isn’t as quick with or without the ball as CC.

As for UCONN, I’ve said multiple times now this year. There are no unbeatable teams.

Incidentally JuJu, who I love, isn’t having a year like last year as of yet and she also isn’t the same player as CC. 1st off, she’s a combo 2/3. She’s a willing passer but not spectacular. Nor would she be.

She also shoots a similar, but lower FG% than CC does & doesn’t shoot at nearly the same 3pt volume. She also plays inside more.

It would be nice if these girls could organically grow their game without certain factions trying to make them better than CC.

Iowa poll

I'm gonna try to hide this here, but over on the main Rivals board, I'm in the process of entrapping a Nebraska troll, of whom some or many of you are familiar with.

He is the mentally disturbed individual that like spams posts on this website with disposable usernames/accounts often mocking Iowa, the fans, etc.

He's more prevalent on the FB boards, but has occasionally been seen like spamming on the bball, HBOT, and wrestling boards as well. So while I'm attempting to "hide" this thread here on the wrestling board, I'm not operating under the illusion that this troll won't see it, which is fine.

I don't mind at all if he finds out that he's been set up. ;)

With that out of the way, all I ask from my fellow Hawk fans, is to click the link to the thread below and vote for Nebraska in the poll. I know most of you probably can't post on that main board unless you are subscribed to Rivals or your account was grandfathered in, but you should still be able to vote, and that's all that's needed.

The poll itself is merely a ruse to draw out as many of the spam accounts by this Nebraska fan so that the mods can delete them. There's already 28 accounts that he's created just to vote in this poll and unwittingly shared for the mods to delete.

I simply ask that you all help finish the job by helping Iowa win the poll and get the last laugh, as well.

P.S. please do be sure to read the poll first before voting

Drake Rhodes

Cobe and Glazier got all the press for their transfer to SDSU, but Drake Rhodes is putting together an excellent season for them. Just took fifth at CKLV, beating Garvin in the 5th place match. He has tons of wins over ranked wrestlers already, some by bonus. He looks like a surefire NQ, and someone who can push for the stand at some point in the next three years. Very cool to see and I thought he deserved a shout out!

Scientists Destroy 99% of Cancer Cells in Lab Using Vibrating Molecules

“Scientists have discovered a remarkable way to destroy cancer cells. A study published last year found stimulating aminocyanine molecules with near-infrared light caused them to vibrate in sync, enough to break apart the membranes of cancer cells.

"What needs to be highlighted is that we've discovered another explanation for how these molecules can work," said chemist Ciceron Ayala-Orozco from Rice University.

"This is the first time a molecular plasmon is utilized in this way to excite the whole molecule and to actually produce mechanical action used to achieve a particular goal – in this case, tearing apart cancer cells' membrane."

Coaching Carousal Closed For This Year

With Florida announcing the return of Napier. Auburn doing the same with Freeze and South Carolina getting it together with Beamer. It looks like the once anticipated moves not looking to occur, or at least with top shelf programs like Florida, USC, and Notre Dame. We may be in a position where more guys like Cignetti aren't going to be moving up.

With NIL and the new expanded playoff, this might be the norm. If Cignetti can win at the Ferentz clip with the compensation, it may be more secure than a place like Ohio State. Ryan Day has never won less than ten games outside of 2020. He's on the hot seat. Sherron Moore is guiding a gutted Michigan team to at least a bowl appearance and he's getting roasted.

Dan Mullen got fired at Florida, he had a top 15 ranked squad and recruiting class. But he was deemed a failure. If Indiana can make the playoff, Cignetti is an all-time great at Indiana. In Ann Arbor or Columbus he's got to make it every year and he better win the whole thing by year three. If he's making the dough and doing what Campbell is doing at Iowa State, it's got to be a great lifestyle.

Then again, Florida, USC and Penn State may open up next year. They've got pressure, resources, history and are just better programs. Eventually they're gonna rebound and the man who does that is going to be heralded as superstars.

Kirk/Hawks lose late lead for Nth time; what number do you think equals the N for Kirk's tenure?

I am saying 45 games over Kirks 26 years. That failure to be able to drive the ball, eat up the clock, and win the game.

Or do drive the ball and score to again get a lead bigger than 8 pts late in a game.

Man, we have seen this movie clip over and over. Back around the 2007 season I counted these up and it was about 1 to 1.5 games a year which is why I am going with the number 45 over 26 years.

We had two of them this year, ISU and Mizzou. Cant count the UCLA game although the hawks did give up a tied ball game for the losing ucla FG.

I dont think the hawks have overcome late deficits as much as giving up late leads, just my impression

Have you ever had a near death experience?

It took me awhile to process this and post it to HBOT, but last Tuesday I was driving on the highway and a freaking Tesla blew by me on the right side like I was standing still (I was doing 70 mph), hit a retaining wall, and bounced back into the traffic lanes hitting the car in front of me. Both vehicles started spinning and by the grace of God I threaded the needle and wasn't involved in the accident.
This isn't the first time a highway crash happened right in front of my eyes and I avoided becoming part of the crash. At least two other times in the past five years.

Am I lucky or unlucky? Should I stop driving before my luck runs out?

Help me process this HBOT. TIA.
