Bill Mahrer: Biden slayed the Orange dragon and has gotten better with age

Age by itself isn’t a problem, it’s the age related cognitive decline that makes people nervous. And America has elected Maher’s generation into the White House since 1992, and they haven’t exactly done a bang up job.

BBC got a black police officer on to discuss Chauvin's convictions

If you get a chance, read about Wolfgang’s Subculture of Violence theory and Merton’s Strain Theory. Also, controlling for socioeconomic status, there is a much smaller disparity in criminality between all races.

BBC got a black police officer on to discuss Chauvin's convictions

Tatum’s references to the crime statistics amongst blacks are verifiably accurate. As I’ve said before, controlling for crime, there is no racial disparity in the use of lethal force by police. He’s also correct that the media is selling Americans on lies that are easily disproven. Yet, crime...

Cop punches handcuffed woman in face...

This is why cops use tasers all the time, strikes look a lot worse to the public than a drive stun, when a suspect is resisting. That said, the head strikes after she kicked him were excessive.

    Another bad cops story...

It most locales, motorcycle cops almost exclusively only do traffic. Their monthly numbers were probably down. It makes me wonder how long they had been doing it considering how easy it is just to stop and ticket that many people the legitimate way.

Poll: Daunte Wright shooting--was 2nd Degree manslaughter the correct charge?

Accountability is important but nobody wants to be accountable to unqualified people who don’t have any knowledge of their profession. Just in this thread, there are some hilariously bad takes.

Poll: Daunte Wright shooting--was 2nd Degree manslaughter the correct charge?

Obviously, you don’t understand the pitfalls of debating anecdotes. Google “fleeing suspect, hits pedestrian.” I’ll trade a dead criminal resisting arrest with a dead innocent pedestrian every day of the week. Eventually, they have to be arrested, even if it’s at home, and that too causes problems.

Chauvin May Have Additional Criminal Exposure c/o the DOJ and 2017 Incident w/ Black Teen

When the general public thinks a cop shouldn’t shoot a knife wielding assailant or yank a suspect out of the vehicle after a pursuit, I can understand why police aren’t eager to openly release internal investigations to amateurs that don’t understand police practices or what they are reading.

It happens every day. More often than an officer mixing up weapons. https://www.clackamas.us/sheriff/2020-11-05-CCSOPR-TheftHitAndRunArrest.html

Poll: Daunte Wright shooting--was 2nd Degree manslaughter the correct charge?

Resisting arrest by a suspect known to be in possession of a firearm and attempting to flee via a vehicle is volatile. Wait until someone flees and hits a pedestrian, then we can hear the public complaining that the police let him go.

USC Song Girls - For the price of one cup of coffee a day...

The problem is that in a victimhood culture, the highest moral status goes to the victim—which encourages people to publicize their grievances on social media. The subsequent “likes” are a feedback loop that gives those grievances too much weight.
