“Fran the Man” reminds me of the old Lou Holtz “ND fan” story….

After Lou’s first season (‘86) at ND the Irish were 5-6 but greatly improved over the previous year. In ‘87, ND was 8-4 played in a bowl game and the alumni were really excited…In ‘88 the Irish were 12-0 and won the National Title! The alumni were really happy! At one alumni function, Lou tell about a “fan” who expressed his Congratulations for a great year but asked Lou…. “how come you only beat the Navy by 14?”
Fran…. Was that guy you dad or uncle?

At 8:51 pm CT, I wrote this: "10 turnovers so far; ideally, you'd have that for the ENTIRE GAME."

Anyone following the team knows that turnovers have been a huge issue for this team all season long.

Sure, tonight we won 85-61, but we still had 23 turnovers.

You might be fine with 23 turnovers in a game but I guarantee you Jan, the coaching staff and the players are not. Iowa shooting 72% tonight helped cover up the issue but that kind of shooting won't happen very often.

Any way, sorry for the outrage I caused you.

The team I coach has a personality, too. We don't play defense! I tell people to live with it, too; for some reason they won't and they want me gone!!! Bastards!!!! After all, we score a ton to make up for it (well, usually)!!!

Every team is different. And if you are coaching, you know the kids are trying as best they can for the most part. I used to coach some freshmen BB back in the day, and a couple of years I felt I was successful because the kids put their jerseys on with the small numbers in the front.
