Just adding the context you left out...Russia wasn't a victim in WW2. They invaded Finland, Poland and the Baltic States as a quasi ally of Germany...bit them in the ass when Germany invaded.

They invaded Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Georgia and Crimea in the decades after WW2.

That's not a "microscopic" slice of time.

Are you really excusing Russia for invading its neighbors due to PTSD from "having perceived enemies close to the border?" The reason why more of their neighbors want to join NATO is because they are worried that they will be next to be invaded.

If they want to join now they have to publicly grovel as well as pay their back pay that they owe imo.
